Not really. Gaber (MIH) had a fast start in the pod but didn't maintain that pace. Sanderson (MIH) had a season that met, and end that exceeded expectations; however, he, and Gaber were overshadowed by Pinto, Kawaguchi, et al, stealing most of the hockey headlines. That hurt their causes. Meanwhile Schuster was the reliable, consistent, steady engine of UND Football this spring. (Some would say he's not a high revving engine, but diesels are good too.) Frankly, one could make a reasonable argument for Bo Belquist.

The "Blind Squirrel" committee would like to know where to ship your award. Kunz had been talked up by Schlossman a couple weeks ago; even I put him as a most likely, with no second option, on the list I've kept here for last couple weeks. Since April 12, this thread, Kunz' name is the only one by one of the open slots. The last remaining is Bowen or Constantini, but I wouldn't be surprised if the coaches pulled another name out of their hat.

I'd take Watson's footspeed in the UND WR corps. Can I install it in Belquist or Boltmann?

On the screen, that D? Slot man reads the defender to his inside - if he blitzes it's quick slant, if not it's an out to the flat. Outside receiver runs skinny post or post-corner to clear the area for the flat route. The RB runs a wheel route the other way. TE reads the blitz and releases to the middle if he's not blocking.

Um ... no. NDSU was running iron absorption experiments. They were using a radionuclide form of iron to detect how much and where in the body the consumed iron was stored. Put another way ... NDSU was putting radioactive iron into dogs via diet, I (my machine) was just measuring how much stayed in the dog (and where within the physiology). And the dogs were all alive when they came out of my radiation detection machine. The NDSU folks cleaned up what 'came out of the dog'.

I know those beagles well. When I was a UND grad student I built some trace isotope detection tech for the NDSU lab where the beagles lived. (It was modeled after a similar facility at UND. NDSU got beagle size; UND had people size.)

UND's touchdown drives were 75, 90, and 91 yards. How many teams had a 90 yard TD drive all season, much less against that defense.

They bring in puppies from the shelter on Tuesdays.
