2021-22 ND High School Hockey

Looking at the state road cameras, ... https://travel.dot.nd.gov/?layers=cameras,closed-blocked,event-orange,incident-red,informational-grey,roads,travelalerts,warning-blue,warning-yellow ... I've seen worse through my windshield. OK, OK, it might be a bit tough up by Rugby right now. I always love it when the map says "no travel" or "road closed" but the road camera shows some random rolling by in their truck. -

< crabby old man voice, because @PCMisn't here to use his > When I was a kid, the principal would stand on his front porch and hold his arm out and thumb up. If he could see his thumb, we had school, ... and he had an enclosed porch. -

Wasn't someone asking who the "western surprise" would be this year? Bottineau-Rugby on line one ... Note: Looks on the schedule like the East moved back a day (no games scheduled today) and what should be today is listed as tomorrow. https://ndhsaanow.com/schedules/icehockey-boys?program_id=&tier_id=&level=varsity&interval=today Yup, they shoved back a day. https://ndhsaanow.com/brackets/icehockey-boys/661/2022-ndhsaa-east-region-boys-hockey-tournament -

Midco has the reach of its cable system. Bally (formerly Fox Sports North) has a much greater reach. <-- Be happy about exposure here. -
... um, 'extracurriculars' ...

I did half the heavy lifting. That's your homework.

Right or wrong, like it or not, quality of play be damned, that "B1G" conference name carries panache that impresses starry-eyed recruits.
-
I blame Connor Ford for not using the "Pittsburgh guys" mind-trick mojo on him. I'm kidding.

Stay in Omaha. It's 60 miles.

Actual balance sheet assets, I'd say no they haven't, but they're close, because of their deferred commitments and outstanding revocable pledges to come in. (As jdub said, they don't have $85M plus $143M actually in hand yet.) Look at UND AAF actual data (2021 auditor's report) and UND has over $500M in actual assets under management. You can't list pledges or promises on a balance sheet or audit report so the auditor's report is real money (well, as real as any balance sheet is when you're talking investments). You can list money under management that has donor stipulations (because you carry the asset, not a promise).

Well, that took nine seconds of effort ... https://undalumni.org/financials-reports

Since @gfhockey seems interested ... Here's the accounting of the NDSU drive: What catches my eye is the $146M of pledges (not in hand yet) and $143M of revocable deferred commitments. That's almost $290M (49%) of money promised, but not yet delivered, of the $586M. Is that a normal, usual, ratio for a campaign like this?

These two are eight and nine in KRACH. I think it'll come down to health and who can (is available to) go.

And the defenseman from WMU. -
BU head coach looks like “probey” McGee on NCIS to me.
-
BU wins on a late goal 1-0. And they celebrate like they won the Stanley Cup … uh … oh-kay …
-
BU and Northeastern playing Beanpot final on NHL Network. No score late in the second.

What is the official remaining eligibility on Jandric, Calder, and Ferner? And Senden and Hain are potential Covid super seniors. Ford and Driscoll will be gone (eligibility). I don't see Senden and Hain staying. Sanderson is surely gone. If Jandric has one more year and stays it might be just bring in one recruiting pipeline defender to replace Sanderson. Bring in Hedquist for Driscoll. I'm not sure they'd look portal even for forwards given the pipeline (Strinden, Blake, McLaughlin, James, Spicer).
-
Good call on playing last year translating to success this year. I'm interested in next year and comparing teams that kept "super seniors" over bringing in freshmen versus teams that stayed more "pipeline". I'd put SCSU, WMU in the super senior category. Both of them will be really young next season.

I'd argue WMU and UNO will decide the #PenneRosa. Each plays both DU and UND to close out the season. -

I'd call that a nomination for NCHC Defenseman of the Week. And honestly, allowing 2 PPG on the weekend, and pitching a shutout is a nomination for Driscoll. -
If anything, the review should've been for checking from behind against CC because they did hit Kleven square in the ol' 2-5. Now the fact that you bounced off and got hurt because hitting 25 is like hitting a wall is not 25's fault.
