Travel partners. See ... USC/UCLA.
-
I believe they'll be a pair no matter what happens.
-
Like I said, Wassu and OrSU have to be terrified right now. They are afterthoughts behind Cal/Stan/UW/UO, then Utah/Colo/Az/ASU.
-
Tampa already making salary cap moves ... Tampa opens up over $4 million in cap space.
-
20k students (30k vs 10k). Wassu and OrSU will at worst land in the MWC, but that's a tumble from the PAC.

This move by the B1G is as much about research dollars as media dollars. UCLA is top five in research spending. Taking USC/UCLA gets the B1G the LA media market and a huge new partner in the BTAA. (And USC is the bait to finally get Notre Dame to the B1G.) It also hardens them all up in the face of perilous economic futures, and demographic shifts, and an uncertain global political future. Inflation is here for a while and that will impact school budgets across the board. CA is the #1 exporter of college students and now the B1G has direct exposure to them (as their states' HS grad numbers slide). USC/UCLA jumped into a group that will ride this out and survive. The rest of us need to make a similar move. Getting UND/NDSU, USD/SDSU, Montana/MontSU, Idaho together to form their own conference ... and research group ... would harden up that group of state name-brand schools. The group would have 8 US Senators looking out for them on Federal research. No, it's not BTAA, but it's strength in numbers. This is another argument why this group should break from the MVFC and BSC and band together.

That is a real possible outcome for Wassu and OrSU.

The B1G with USC/UCLA is looking at a $100M per school media deal from Fox. If you can't add that much to the pie, you're not getting a B1G sniff. I only see one contender at that level: Our Lady of South Bend. What they do triggers the succeeding fallout.
-
Only if the B1G gets USC ... and Stanford.

In a 5 hour window USC and UCLA go from PAC to B1G ... and no leaks before it starts in motion?
-
I found this on a CSNBBS board in response to a claim these moves (TX/OK --> SEC; USC/UCLA --> B1G) being greed based: I'm struggling to defeat the argument.

I'd guess the B1G goes after Stanford and Cal. Having USC and Stanford might finally get the B1G their prize: Notre Dame.

As seen at CSNBBS ... Conference Realignment: It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to make money.
-
So does this mean UCLA and USC will be joining the BTHC? This move really opens up live programming on BTN ... 7 pm Pacific start times.

This. Can't. Be. Real.

The bad news about Washington is HC Kalen DeBoer and STC Eric Schmidt. They both know all of Bubba's tendencies of 20-30 years ago which means they know all about him today and tomorrow.

Abe. That Abe. Oh. My.

Denver got a new logo and it's mandated on team jerserys. It's a gold snail with a red "D" painted on its shell. We are working to confirm if the new DU nickname is "slime trailers".

Article says 12 returning starters, 8 on offense ... and then goes on to say 5 on defense. Ten fingers and two feet and still couldn't get it right. Nebraska math.

The correct, updated phrase is: ... to not Amber Heard the bed ...
