    Best case as a pair they run 24-27 minutes. Let's call it 25. 25 minutes with both, or 50 minutes with one or the other out there. I chose the "50" scenario; YMMV.

    So close ... To start the season you run Pyke and Zmolek and the Pehrson and Wiebe. It keeps L/R shots together but it puts the best defender with the freshman to begin with.

    Anyone notice ESPN/Weeks announced CBJ at 3 before Bill Daily did? Happened just as they went to commercial before announcing the top three draft picks order. Only the top three picks didn’t go chalk. 1-2-3 became 3-1-2 … and Bedard goes to Chicago market, not Anaheim or Columbus, … how fortunate for the league …

    Schloss sees some serious minute eaters (Pyke, Pehrson). That leaves four slots. Figure Zmolek is one. That leaves three. Based on age and accolades, Wiebe. Now two for Benoit, Livanavage, and Komzak. (And that's just seven D.) Strathmann creates a log jam for minutes. If he's talking a USHL season to focus on defense and come in 2024, yes please.

    Why is EDM having any success? Evander Kane and Zach Hyman. Dirty areas. That and an ice-presence D in Ekholm. SEA looks like they're playing a full-attack 2-1-2 or dare I say torpedo with the constant two-man pressure.

    No. Poaching. No. Tampering. Do unto others as you would have ... I see good options in the portal (and pipeline). I can't figure out what they are looking for in an 8D. Are they looking for a "suit". Are they looking for insurance if Zmolek's hip isn't right? Are they looking "rental" (one year) or investment. About all I can say about 8D is it's more important to finalize than a theoretical 16F.
