  1. I thought it was my ol' friend "Jack" listening to that for me. Guess not.
  2. According to the USCHO PWR Wisconsin is in a world of hurt after last night. T15 is not the place to be in the PWR when teams outside of the top 16 (like CHA champion Bemidji State, and the AHA champion) are going to get automatic births in the NCAA tournament field.
  3. Clearly you missed the double entendre.
  4. That's the only possible explanation of both Stuart and Jones. And for the record, the "Official SiouxSports.com Spokesman for Everyone (except CoteauRinkRat, resident insurgent)" just admitted he gets his "ever-wise" insights from me. However, I'll let him keep talking for the rest of you.
  5. See above. I'm abstaining from Leinie's for the night.
  6. SHHHHH! Don't give away my plan!
  7. For 1 to 3 inches go to Minnesota. For 8 inches or more visit North Dakota. It figures. PCM raises a good point. Tonight no respect for Wisconsin: no Leinies. (Of course you realize that means no Coors for those of you that choose that if we play DU next.) Now, are we sure that there are no college hockey teams from Tennessee so I can catch up with my ol' friend "Jack" instead.
  8. I guess I'm just not seeing that "major winter storm" formed up yet. http://weather.noaa.gov/radar/images/DS.74...onus/latest.gif
  9. I've seen them only at the pro shop in The Ralph.
  10. Light blue ice? The blue lines become orange, but the red line goes dark blue? With those colors shouldn't NYI be playing on it? So, should UND go to a soft tint of green ice? I'm sure Sioux fans would gladly help give a soft tint of yellow to the ice in The John. ;)
  11. The "capital planning" portion of his Stanford bio is what catches my eye. Pop "Ray Purpur" into your favorite search engine and you'll find out what he's been working on.
  12. Only 11 WCHA banners in the photo? Our photographer must be a slacker!
  13. http://gra.midco.net/pcmiller/Web_Graphics/7bannersweb.jpg gives you
  14. Maybe if the BTHC ran a pre-season tourney you could catch the Cubs winning Game 7 of a World Series over the White Sox during the same weekend.
  15. No, no, no, Mafia. The "BTHC" Tourney would be played at United Center in Chicago. Being the closest school Buckie Badger would get the preferential treatment. Well, them or Northwestern or the Illini.
  16. First, the UND student body was on spring break last weekend: 2200 no-show bodies. (Well, the bodies were "showing", but not in REA, more likely on a warm sandy beach somewhere.) Add in the 2200 student seats full and you'd have the building over capacity. Next, let's try to really go enfuego. (First, the fuel ....) I really don't mind the "Minnesota Rule" at the WCHA Final Five. It just goes to prove what we've all really known all along. (Now, toss the lit match at it.) Gopher fans won't show up unless it's easy for them. Most of us would gladly only have to take a half-day of vacation to see "their team" play. Too bad most of us have to take a day or more off just to see "their team". Talk about fair-weather fans if you have to make it easy for them, and make it so they don't even have to take vacation, to get them out and watching their team, when all they have to do is drive across a bridge. (Flame-fanning 101 is complete.)
  17. Actually, the NCAA has a preference for on-campus sites in their DI manual:
  18. Come on WPoS, don't make it so easy. There are no NCAA rules regarding playing sites for conference tournaments. The Final Five is a conference tournament and could be played wherever the WCHA decides to play it. NCAA mens regional basketball tournament sites (and Final Four) must not be on-campus sites. Womens basketball and mens ice hockey regionals can be played on-campus, e.g. Mariucci this year for the NCAA West Region mens ice hockey and The Ralph next year. The Frozen Four must be at an arena that holds more than 15000 people which means off-campus (with one or two exceptions). I'm not sure if there is a specific "off-campus" rule for the Frozen Four.
  19. Technically, East Grand Forks isn't Grand Forks. Maybe "Uncle Ralph" should have built an arena in EGF too.
  20. If it's about central location, why the special considerations in game scheduling for just Minnesota? Why not just a straight tournament bracket with seeds and times set before the season starts? If it were held in Denver or Milwaukee would DU or UW games be given similar "special consideration" for start times? How about if it were ever held in the new arena in Winnipeg, would UND be given start time "special considerations"? If it's about a neutral facility I hear the Pepsi in Denver is nice, and there are a couple of WCHA teams nearby to host as well. Milwaukee. Winnipeg. Neutral. It's about Benjamins and nothing more. The WCHA will do whatever wherever to maximize the gate from the Five. You don't have to like it. Just accept it and move on.
  21. http://www.d2football.com/Stories/2005draftpreview2.html Roland is at #5. And when did Bowenkamp change his first name from John to "James"?
  22. The magic "two or more goals" point: Make it: 18-8-4 Miss it: 0-5-1 Of the "make it" sub-group: If seniors get two or more: 10-1-0 If seniors get less than two: 8-7-4 It still is pointing at when the seniors show up.
  23. Weren't there other signals, like not being on the U-20 WJC team?
