  1. He (and Grant Potulny, and other collegians for that matter) attended a Senators development camp last summer as well.
  2. sioux_goo, You need to understand something fundamental here: Credibility doesn't come about just because you say it should be. Nameless sources doesn't add to it. Attacking those who dare question you and your "inside" knowledge doesn't add to it. Credibility comes when reality comes to pass that matches the statements that were previously put forth by you. Your "their (sic) is my validity!!!! all you doubters!!!!" statement based on "a source inside REA" means exactly zilch until 30 days pass and TB is gone (or is not gone) or you roll out hard evidence one way or the other before then. People reading this board have no way of knowing if you are real or a poseur claiming great inside knowledge. Until then, the doubters have fair reason to doubt. Want to erase the doubters? Show the hard evidence or name names. Please don't consider this as "ripping" you. I'm trying to help you understand why many folks tend to be skeptical of the things you're putting forth.
  3. It'd be a stepping-stone position for him! KG for GC then HC!
  4. Karl Goehring for head coach! ;)
  5. If they were smart ... ... rather than the traditional netting hung straight down from the rafters they'd run the netting from the top of the glass to the bottom of the electronic ring. The upper deck folks would have a minimal sight-line impact and yet the lower bowl and suites would be protected. You think the lawyers are causing pain now? I can't wait for the first case of indoor fireworks to start one of those nets on fire.
  6. " ... established a conference in D1AA* ... " * that should say "for football only". What about the other 15 sports?
  7. I saw that. I was pondering it. It was worthy of hitting my short wishlist. Do I need to add an asterisk or credit you?
  8. Let's throw that wildcard name into that mix: Tom Ward, head coach, Shattuck-St. Mary's
  9. Well, I didn't believe it, or was it that I didn't want to believe it. Either way .... What a terrible situation for the potential next head coach of the Fighting Sioux: - take over the MacNaughton Cup champions - come to a "full cupboard" roster - The Ralph - and get to beat Denny at pinochle I guess it's time to start the speculations. I'd say the list in the GF Herald is pretty good and almost too long. I'd speculate that the candidates (probably in order of chance) would be: - Scott Sandelin - Steve Johnson - John Marks - Dave Hakstol
  10. No, no. The conspiracy was to float Blais' name to get your hopes up.
  11. Gino got 3 (1980, 1982, 1987). Blais needs to get his 3 (1997, 2000, ?) before he can go. Then we'll get three from the next guy*. ;) * Former UND All-American Scott Sandelin? GF Central alumnus and UND All-American Steve Johnson from the Lincoln Stars?
  12. I asked a question because I don't know: "Who was the cause?" You replied, " ... the comment in question was made not because of any rift but because he (Lucia) felt the effort wasn't there ... " Let me reiterate a key part of what you said: " ... the effort wasn't there ... " Does anyone have a tape so I can see who wasn't putting out the effort? I think I'm more than reasonably safe to assume it wasn't Riddle, Koalska, Ballard, or Grant Potulny letting Lucia down. I'll need to see the tape to figure it out from there.
  13. Shall I scurry off and post that in roughly half the threads over in POI as well? What did Don Lucia mean when he was quoted earlier this year (in MSP media, and still on http://www.prideonice.com/) when he made his notorious post-game, gesturing toward a silent locker room, statements: Clearly there was a rift in the Minnesota room. Who was the cause?

    NHL Draft

Both Stafford and Zajac have what the NHLers love on draft day: 6'2+" and 200+ pounds
  15. Would any guy who interviewed for the top job take second-fiddle to the guy who got the job? Greyeagle's point (family) is a very good one. End of statement.
  16. Why not 6000 to 7000 seats? Because UND basketball attendance over the last decade doesn't justify it? Because the bottom bowl of The Ralph is that already (plus you have The Ralph already)? Because the 4000 seats in The Betty cost $7.5 MM and the 6000 seats at Gonzaga's new, similar arena cost $23 MM(!)? Those "extra" millions could do a lot for other UND training facilities. (See above.) I'm primarily a hockey fan. I'm not really fond of the court being put down on the ice frequently. However, it seems to work at the Kohl (UW) and the Schott (tOSU) where they frequently host both hockey and BB.
  17. Huh? What were you saying? I got distracted after "L&M brats". Those are good stuff!
  18. Pictures from June 21 here (scroll).
  19. Even if Kooistra is exactly as you say, he has still raised the issue. Who knows where it goes from there. If it remains the realm of collegiate athletics you'll probably be right. If it turns political (state dollars, taxpayers, budgets) all bets are off. It'd be tough to claim the UND Administration needs to "wake up" when you read the "Scheduling/Division I" section of these UND IAC meeting minutes. They're awake.
  20. Sounds like you and 'star2city' should chat.
  21. Reading this post, 'star2city' has their first convert. And on a related note, look at what I found:
  22. Considering they keep stealing top assistants from UND to become their head coaches, Minnesota - Duluth is the obvious choice: Scott Sandelin, Kyle "Bubba" Schweigert.
  23. Lights at Memorial Stadium? Next you'll want to put lights at Wrigley Field. ;)
