  1. Last time I looked (may not be 100% accurate), this is the structure that controls REA (board members listed with each): I struggle to even try to believe that Earl Strinden and Tom Clifford (much less Bob Gallager(!) and Aron Anderson) are out to "get" UND. Is the agreement perfect? Can't be. Great? Probably not. Does The Betty debt need to be paid off to free cash-flow for a DI move? "Nobody knows everything."

  3. All Coach Glas ever described Beasley as is "really laid back". Something must have been really wrong in how all that played out.
  4. What kind of fool trash-talks like that to a wide-bodied 6'9" guy?
  5. Goldie shows excellent form with that.
  6. They are. They just put the bulls-eye on UND's back. See?
  7. Here's what caught my eye in the 2004-05 NCAA manual: So now that DI-A is a 12 game schedule, that means: - must play 8 games v. DI-A (7 is only 58%) -- five DI-A games must be at home To get a DI-A to play at your place you probably have to return the favor to them at some point. Look at a conference like the Big Ten (which seems to be playing a lot of DI-A MAC teams this year): - 4 H/4 R conference games - have to schedule another DI-A home game - have to compensate the DI-A you visited last year That "five regular season home games against Division I-A opponents" seems like it's going to force some DI-As to play other DI-As rather than DI-AAs in the future. That probably spells fewer "money date" opportunities for DI-AAs down the road.
  8. Kick-off by 2008. Full-boat target value by 2012 (see link). Would I get 20 tickets to a football game against Valparaiso with that?
  9. From: http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/i...mp;section=News So "within the next four years" the soccer field on the Bronson property will become a School of Medicine research building. Where would soccer play then? Or will the athletic facilities plan UND is working on (that should be out yet this fall) answer that for us. We live in interesting times.
  10. You are the company you keep. What are the established endowments of some recognizable universities*? $350 to 450 million: North Carolina State University Foundation University of Arizona and Foundation University of Mississippi and Foundation Virginia Tech Foundation $450 to 550 million: Iowa State University and Foundation University of Utah Florida State University Foundation University of Colorado Foundation University of Georgia and Foundation University of Miami $550 to $750 million: Washington State University University of Kentucky University of Louisville Foundation University of Tennessee System University of Oklahoma and Foundation University of Iowa and Foundation * Data from "2005 NACUBO Endowment Study, ©2006 National Association of College and University Business Officers"
  11. Obviously if the Sioux are on WDAZ they get it. I believe they used to switch one of those two over to FSSN for Winnipeg cable during broadcasts. PS - Winnipeg cable means most of southern Manitoba too.
  12. Sjoberg Cable covers NW Minnesota.
  13. Yup, I do. Be sure to check what Midco channel in your town here.
  14. Those who take the time to read the details of things like Dr. Kupchella's Strategic Plan for UND have known this is coming (see priority/action area G). Tim O'Keefe was asked about it on KNOX Radio one day over the summer. It was mentioned by Kupchella at the Fargo Showcase. And now this morning on KFGO Radio news you hear the man again talking about it. UND is planning to launch the campaign to establish a $500 million endowment for the University some time between now and 2008.
  15. Then blame yourself. The president of NDSU agreed to it when it was created.
  16. ... in accordance with NCAA's legislative process. And they didn't do that. Oops. Did someone miss that key detail? (Now read the Kupchella quote in my signature.)
  17. Gee, I know I've seen that plan, and it being implemented, somewhere already.
  18. All of this speculating is just so much full, even the (should be) professionals have joined in and are on the campaign trail.
  19. Conspiracy theories are free. When the fundraising campaign kick-off shortly you'll know it's no longer "theory". That's when I'll stick a crowbar in the wallet.
  20. 'cause I know you'd expect nothing less from me, how about (multiple choice): - soccer and lacrosse in a new indoor training center on field turf* - soccer and lacrosse on field turf* in The Al I hope I didn't disappoint. * NCAA rules require soccer on real grass or field turf. A soccer ball never stops rolling on Magic Carpet like what's in The Al or Memorial today.
  21. No sh.... , never mind.
  22. In this case I believe it'll be done at the bang of a gavel. But, if Mr. 'Sudo' is on the toilet at the time the noise could help "move things along."
