Could it be that they don't know anything worthy of blogging (I'll stop short of saying "reporting") on?

Sounds like a lot of fun to be at Montana State right now: Credit: Helena Independent Record, 06/04/07, By TOM STUBER, IR Sports Writer Sounds like the scholarship losses have just begun due to academic performance.

Folks, use your heads when talking about Jake Marto. He may not be the best player, but wouldn't it be better to find out if he's going to be WCHA capable now, when it's not critical? Current defensive group: Chorney, Jones, Lee, Finley, Bina, Genoway, Radke. How many of those will we have in 12 months? Genoway and Jones. Bina and Radke are seniors; Chorney, Lee, Finley I expect all to sign. LaPoint and Jake Marto this year are musts to get them evaluated and experienced for the 2008-2009 season. PS - Who were the last two not highly regarded GFC defensemen to play for UND -- Andy Schneider and Nick Fuher. They turned out OK. I'll be patient and see what Jake Marto can do.

So are ya trying to say he's ... Gone ... "like yesterday"?

Since we seem to have adopted the bad lounge act genre: F-f-f-f-f-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-l-l-l-l-l-ings, whoa, whoa, whoa, f-f-f-f-f-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-l-l-l-l-l-ings ...

Might I recommend you go back to about post 115 and start in there. Doing so you'll see that folks are not talking about these things off the cuff but do understand the impacts and ramifications (on people, on programs, on budgets). Yes, in a perfect world every school could offer every sport to every body. But it's not a perfect world, and it's very dynamic. As the dynamics change so too must people, programs, and budgets. No, it's not perfect, but it is reality and we all must live in that. Why? We don't have infinite resources. We must maximize what we do have.

Why would I downgrade from what I have?

Yeah, but he's still only about 5'5".

If Syracuse feels like it can't compete in M/W swimming .... (gulp) ....

I've heard too many stories about arenas and hockey teams in Fargo to believe the words until I see the ice and players. I'm not saying I hope they fail; I'm saying I need to see the results and not just words before I'm believing it all. Call it healthy skepticism (after "Fargo Arena" I and II).

A year from today, three years from today: How many scholarships will USD have to work with? How many will Montana State have after APR reductions? How many will North Dakota have? It kind of makes you wonder which really is the best job right now.

Yeah, and the financing is done and construction has started on UP Center too.

Isn't Fargo supposed to be getting a USHL franchise soon ....

NBC: Lacrosse on the cusp of becoming next big NCAA sport I've said it. I'll say it again: It's coming. Get out front.

Retracted?

In Fargo it's not about feeling good about what you're doing and why you're doing it; in Fargo it's all about, well, this sums it up:

I wonder who the bold part was aimed at ....

He wouldn't ask how many times, 'cause it only takes once. He'd ask, "Forwards or backwards?" (Reference to playing forward or defense.)

Famous Dave's is to real barbecue what Olive Garden is to real Italian and Paradiso is to real Mexican.

Dave's or Roadhouse: Grand Forks got the better with Texas Roadhouse.

Uh, no. But I do believe he was brought in to restore Minnesota Gopher football. And I do believe Maturi, the other piece of the scheduling puzzle you mention, brought him in to do it. The reigning BCS Champion (and the runner-up) played zero, no, FCS/DI-AA schools in 2006. Want BCS credibility? You must have the schedule that shows it. Having FCS/DI-AA schools on it takes away from it. Brewster, and Maturi, know it.

My next question: When new REA opened in 2001 each WCHA team had a banner on the south end above the club room. (They still each do.) One of the school names was horribly misspelled and has since been corrected. Reproduce that misspelling and you'll have answered the question.

Ulmer got called 8 seconds into the game. At 58 seconds into the game Mark Rycroft hit Jeff Panzer, who'd perfectly stationed himself along the boards in the northeast corner of old REA in a manner that he was an irresistable checking from behind target. Silly Rycroft couldn't resist.

First time I've seen that name. The others really held no surprises.
