  1. App State is very good and proved it today. However, I'm torn by this. I see FBS (DI-A) slipping as showboating and big hits are more important than fundamentals and wrapping up tackles. This to me shows how some of the mighty are slipping. Then again, torn still, ... Do we talk about this weekend's performances of Youngstown State, FIU, Weber State, Western Kentucky, SoCar State, Northeastern, ... College football is becoming teams that play the game the right way and teams that spend more time worrying about all wrong things. App State played it the right way today. Michigan, not so much. PS - DII champ GVSU ended last season ranked higher than App State!
  2. Mike Hart, 54 yards, TD, 2-point fails. 32-31 Wolverines.
  3. Michigan has the ball on their 46 with about 5 to play and down 5. Go to ESPN.com. You can "watch" the game on GameTrack.
  4. I'd rather be in the pink, than yellow.

  6. 55-45? Defense optional?
  7. It already is. Got a heck of a wireless cable modem connection down here on "the other side". And yes, it is "down" here.
  8. The answer is clear. General George Crook, US Army, stated that the Sioux were the greatest light Cavalry the world has ever known. If not "Go Sioux", clearly, it's "Go Cavalry."
  9. How nice of them to offer to "refresh" an arena that isn't even 10 years old yet and is still the best hockey arena on earth.
  10. The post by "mksioux" pretty much sums up where I'm at also. I don't agree with an active campaign to "get rid of" those programs; rather, no moniker means no motivation to keep them running. And no motivation to keep and maintain them means they won't survive long. Rather than actively cutting I think it'd be much more fun to watch them wither and die on the vine, along with anti-moniker crowd's political power on campus. Careful what you wish for. You don't know what you've got until it's gone.
  11. Sounds like there's all new meaning to "Hatton-Northwood". It isn't just co-op athletics for a while. Congrats to Hatton for being a good neighbor.
  12. My response to that? "Porter, ... on the wrap-around ..."
  13. My purpose in pointing to StratPlanII was to show that Kupchella didn't plan on rampant growth. It is quite concerning that he's failed to meet even the moderate targets set forth. The low Aero number is the biggest concern. He and Smith need to get on that one. I know Smith can fix it.
  14. No, we all lose.
  15. Ya'know something folks, I have this wacky idea: Rather than all us "gene-yus-es" (
  16. I know they sold the boards out of old REA and sold the east grandstand from Memorial. Is there a market for "game-tested" turf?
  17. I know "Doc" was taunting me with this, so, fine, here it is.
  18. Yeah, who doesn't miss " .... Watzisnaem Sparko, better known as
  19. Did it seem to anyone else that the HSU return guys had a real problem adjusting to catching a ball inside a dome?
  20. You're probably right. Why run when you can go 15 of 18 for 280+ and 5 TDs in a half?
  21. All of this is fun and what-not, but there was a game last night. My favorite take: I think it's going to be fun watching Kasowski and German in the middle over the next few years. Maybe we could have "situational" offensive backfield sets now too: The "GF Central" Set: Ryan Chappell behind Jake Landry The Wisconsin Set: Josh Murray behind Dan Freund The Minneapolis Metro Set: Brandon Dungy behind Ryan Konrath
  22. I'm yet to see UND run a "20 tickets for $100" promo. I know NDSU has (2003 v. Alpo, er, I mean Valpo). As far as a Valley Dairy 2-for-1 I can honestly say I had not heard of it being promoted yet this fall.
  23. So NDSU gets them in the door and then says "no" to their desired major where UND makes the call before they ever enroll. That sounds in some ways like Dr. Kupchella's stated approach in his Strategic Plan II where he wants to enroll those who have the best tools to succeed so the second-year retention rate stays very high.
  24. So what's the basis of this claim?
