You're kidding, right? USD was never officially in the BSC, and I doubt the Sky wants us back. The XDSU's would be affected by the loss of two Summit League members would be the biggest factor, but it's not happening.

I'm sure NDSU will always hold it against RT and UND for the bad blood in the last move up. I'll never understand why RT was against us moving up, but when he refused to play NDSU that's when things got ugly. He pretty much gave NDSU bulletin board material for them to use and of course Gene Taylor used it to retaliate. If the bill that congress is considering should pass, that will essentially freeze the P4 conferences at current membership and no move ups from the G6 in the near future if that happens. That will lock us out of any FBS consideration because none of the G6 teams will move on. Personally I'm fine in FCS, we still need to prove a few things first.

Salary?

I agree on LIU. We're always looking for the easy win but these guys are just horrible. Chaves needs to at least schedule respectable teams. I'm not sure what to think about Idaho State. They have never been very good but at least they aren't Long Island University and not on probation.

With NDSU giving out 22 more scholarships shouldn't that be forcing them to settle for some lesser quality kids in order to fill the roster? They seem to be getting all quality boys this time around which is most unfortunate.

Not happening, the NCAA has bigger things to worry about. Mainly it's going to be enforcing the probation on UND for answering that kid's phone call.

I actually hope there's more to this than we are hearing. The kid contacts US and it sounds like we didn't even offer, we report this as a violation, and the NCAA penalizes US and the kid commits to Lindenwood. What am I missing here? We didn't even want the guy

So does the gobc or gfhockey cover the $25,000 fine? They could do it out of petty cash. I doubt any of the other restrictions are going do much damage.

I wasn't implying that NDSU would be the institution that Boise State is, I just meant that there's always the remote possibility they get some football love like Boise got. I don't see that happening either and I hope not but who knows. For now, who cares?

I don't see UND moving to FBS any time soon and I'm just fine with it. Unless NDSU becomes the next Boise State I have no problem with them in the MWC. They can live in their little world and we'll live in ours and do just fine.

My goal is a high energy coach we can hang on to. Maybe it's unrealistic but we can hope.

While it seems so on the surface, do we want the entire staff being poached and have to start the process over? Do we need to look at bumping up salaries to stay competitive and stall out the better coaches moving on? We won't be able to compete with a G6 pay scale but being at the very top of FCS sure would help IMO.

On the subject of Polesek's salary, with the G6 coaches getting that kind of money, how long will be before Schmidt gets something big like that offered to him and moves on? You can bet that another good year and he's on somebody's radar. These G6 salaries are nuts, especially for Polesek.
