  1. For FB yes I agree, but not as your featured back.

    2018 Season

How much money does UND get for playing them? Somewhere in the vicinity of $400K-$500K?
  3. Considering there were 22 seniors on the team, maybe a "few others" were bad locker room guys, but wrong to generalize that entire class that's stayed with the program even when most could've bailed after Mussman and his staff were let go. Most of those seniors were loyal to the program and UND and deserve better than this.
  4. Would be great for us to play spoiler and get a win against a team near the top of the Big Sky rankings, but through clean play and not the bull$%!# type of hit that ahole took on Obri.
  5. Agree on this. Studrud has been attending QB camps in the offseason to improve his game. Don't think he was getting coached up by Rudolph.
  6. I agree that attrition has hurt us at key positions, particularly at LB and in our secondary, and no doubt if you can play it doesn't matter how big your town is. However, there is stronger competition and players who don't get ranked by Rivals as blue-chippers in larger metropolitan areas that may fall down to D1-AA compared to the smaller schools. Sure, you can fill your roster with both, but look at who's the majority of your starters. I'm not trying to slight anyone from ND or small towns, but recruiting could be more expansive in my opinion.
  7. Similar to someone else who rarely posts from a few days ago, I've been following this this blog for 5 years and appreciate the comments, insights and passion for UND football. With that in mind, I agree that 2 of the weaknesses listed above have been exposed and need to be addressed right away: recruiting and coaching adjustments. I'm not going to waste anyone's time on the later because there have multiple threads regarding the need for certain coaches to be more innovative and create with the personnel they have. However, I feel this coaching staff is missing significant opportunities in their recruiting efforts. It has been stated that this coaching staff prefers to recruit young men from ND, MN and Canada because they are more acclimated to the weather conditions, represent the area and will be less apt to becoming homesick. A lot of these guys come from small towns which play 8 or 9 man football. They may be the studs of these conferences and earn end-of-season accolades (all-conf/all-state), but it's not the same level of competition as kids coming out of larger metropolitan areas where they all play standard 11 man ball. There are many kids from these areas who regularly get overlooked in the evaluation process from Rivals or other groups, but play in way more competitive conferences where an all-conf/all-state nominations actually mean something. Your best teams do not limit their recruiting efforts to a small geographical area. In that sense, I think this current staff is somewhat stubborn to a fault with their thinking.
  8. No, he wouldn't qualify because he's played several games already this season.
  9. Too banged up on the O line. MSU controls the line of scrimmage and our offense stalls. MSU 27 UND 10
  10. I'm going to miss #26 roaming the middle. Great kid and leader, but after multiple concussions he decided (and rightfully so) his long-term health and well-being is so much more important. I know he's disappointed he can't go his last year, but he still plans on helping out the team.
