Weston Dressler is a FINALIST for the Harlon Hill Trophy!

Dressler, a junior from Bismarck, N.D., was named first-team All-North Central Conference at three positions - receiver, return specialist and utility player. He is believed to be the first player in the league's history to have accomplished that feat. He is just the fourth player in NCC history to be first-team all- conference four times. This season he has 71 catches for 1,178 yards and 12 touchdowns and has helped lead North Dakota to a 10-1 record entering this weekend's second round playoff game.

Pound for Pound the best athlete I have ever seen.

This weekend is where he could really improve his chances if he plays like the warrior he truly is for the Sioux.

He's so good he's been First-Team All NCC four times even though he's a junior. Impressive.

Unfortunately Dressler is a senior this year. Impressive though with his accomplishment(s)!

I'll bet that's something no player has ever done before. ???

Technically, Dressler has made first team all-NCC seven times. He made it as a return specialist for four years; a wide receiver for two years; and a "utility" player this year. I'd be very surprised if anybody has ever had that many all-conference honors in NCC football history.

Danny Woodhead (Chadron State) won his second straight Harlon Hill Trophy.

Outside of a $100 million donation I bet this doesn't happen very often at the college level...

Chadron State retires Danny Woodhead's jersey number (#3).

Bismarck Tribune: DRESSLER: Mr. All-American

Dressler said he was a better player as a senior in ways that go unnoticed from the stands.

"The biggest example for me was blocking. With my size (5-foot-7, 165 pounds) that was something I had to work hard at. ... Ilearned to use my feet and my body position rather than trying to outmuscle them," he related.

Since graduating from BHS, Dressler hasn't put on a lot of weight. He's about 15 pounds heavier than he was as a high school senior, but time spent in the weight room has made him much stronger.

And the speed that attracted UND's attention remains. He's been clocked as fast as :04.44 in the 40-yard dash, third-best on the team.

Could Dressler be a Wes Welker-type player?
