USA Hockey Posted November 4, 2007 Author Posted November 4, 2007 The 2007 World Junior A Challenge starts tommorow. Four of our recruits are participating in this tournament. Eidsness and Hextall will be playing for Team Canada West and Cichy and Blood will be playing for the U.S. team. Here is the schedule and the rosters for the whole tournament, Canada West roster, http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id...ss_id/20071.htm USA roster, http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id...ss_id/20071.htm Schedule, http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id/24818/la_id/1.htm Quote
Chris Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 It looked like Danny Mattson banged up his right shoulder today at the NIT. It wasn't dangling too low, but I didn't see him move it much, and he went right from the bench to the lockerroom(though it was fairly late in the game when it happened). Hopefully he's ok. Quote
Goon Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Ben Blood article That was an impressive article, the kids sounds focused. Man what a name for hockey: BLOOD... Yikes... Quote
USA Hockey Posted November 5, 2007 Author Posted November 5, 2007 Danny Kristo and the NTDP 18U team will be playing in the Four Nations Tournament in Switzerland starting on Tuesday, you can follow the results of the tournament here. http://www.sehv.ch/SIH/turniere/de/search....ate_from_day=07 Quote
Sioux Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 McKeen's released their list of the 1st round draft prospects. take note of Toews at 16. also, DU's Joe Colborne keeps chuggin' along...hes up to 12th on their list. wow. Quote
USA Hockey Posted November 7, 2007 Author Posted November 7, 2007 Hextall had an assist in today's 3-1 win for Canada West against Germany. As for the USA today, a 2-0 loss to Belarus isn't exactly a great start to the tournament. Quote
USA Hockey Posted November 7, 2007 Author Posted November 7, 2007 Oops, my bad, these games are in progress and not completed yet, you can follow the live stats by the link I provided above. Quote

USA Hockey Posted November 8, 2007 Author Posted November 8, 2007 The US defeated Canada East 3-2 in overtime in the World Junior A Challenge yesterday. Team Canada West lost to Russia 4-2. None of our players had any points for either team. The US will play on Saturday against the winner of tommorow nights game with Canada West and Belarus. If Canada West wins, we could have four recruits playing in one game. Quote
USA Hockey Posted November 8, 2007 Author Posted November 8, 2007 I will be in Madison this weekend for the games so I'm not going to be updating the two tournaments that our recruits are participating in this weekend. Both the links should work for live stats. Also, the championship game for the World Junior A Championship should be on TSN on Sunday if anyone gets that. Besides the standard junior schedules, there isn't much else going on because Shattuck is off, the Elite League is done, and high school hasn't started yet. If anyone in the area wants to go check a potential player out, they can check out Dakota Collins of the F-M Jets, who play two home games on Friday and Saturday night. Quote

Big A HG Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 There were two players from the Russell Stover Midget Major team on a recruiting visit to the Kohl Center this weekend. I think it was unofficial, although they were talking with Eades after the game. Their names were Scott Winkler and Garrett Clarke. The Winkler kid is huge and he's a '94 out of Norway. He's around 6'1" or 6'2" and 13 yrs old. Clarke wasn't as big and is a '92. Winkler is listed as a forward on the site but the coach said UND is looking at him as a defenseman I believe. Interesting... Quote

They're on a good team, last time I looked Russell Stover was the number 1 team in the nation. Quote

USA Hockey Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 The early signing period starts tommorow and runs through the 21st. I don't think there will be any surprises unless there is a commitment right beforehand. Quote
