UND85 Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Has anyone seen the Basketball schedule for the coming season? Quote
bincitysioux Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 IIRC, last year's schedule wasn't released until late June or early July, so I wouldn't expect anything for at least 6 weeks or so. Quote
UND85 Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 Thanks for the info. I heard the Sioux are trying to get a game at the Target Center this winter. That would be great for the fans in the Twin Cities area. Not sure who they would play yet but heard it's in the works. Quote
bincitysioux Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Assistant Coach Ryan Moody was on Tim and Swyg this morning. He said the schedule would likely be released in the next few days. He mentioned the Iowa St. Game, and also said that UND will host a tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend that would include UM-Crookston, Western Oregon, and I think he said a team from the south which has been to the Elite 8 or maybe just the playoffs for the last 4 years, anyways he said they were a very strong opponent. He also said they'd be playing Adams St. from the RMAC. Quote
UND85 Posted May 22, 2007 Author Posted May 22, 2007 Sounds like a good schedule sor far. It should be fun to see them in action next season. Last year in the NCC I think they will be on a mission...much like all of the teams from UND. Quote
bincitysioux Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 What about the women's side? Only thing I know of is Montana St. at the Betty on Dec. 28. Quote

UND85 Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Is anyone willing to call the Athletic Dept. today and ask them to post the schedule? I'm in Beijing China right now and don't want to pay the large bill for an international phone call. Thanks Quote
The Sicatoka Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I'm in Beijing China right now ... Please excuse the spelling but ... Nee-how! If you want me to call say "Shing." Quote
UND85 Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Nee how! Chur la ma?(did you have your meal) shing, not sure on that one. Just got back from shopping, nice dress shirt for $8 along with dress pants for the same. Went to a tailor to get them altered for 75 cents. No Grinders here and really miss them plus Sioux sports so just had to log on to see what fans are talking about. Will return in time to watch the first football game of the season. Zi Gin (good bye) Quote
The Sicatoka Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 "Shay-shay" for the update! You should have "shing" and "shay-shay" figured out now. Quote

bincitysioux Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 The Men's schedule was released today. Sorry, Jim, Valley City is on the schedule. No more major additions, except for Montevallo who went to the Elite 8 will participate in the Thanksgiving tournament at the Betty. We and they would obviously both have to win (or both have to lose) for us to play them. I hope we get can get them. All in all, a better schedule than last year. Tough opening with Adams St., Colorado Springs, and Northern St. Then there is Iowa St. (not an exhibition this year). Still too many DAC teams on the schedule for me though. We open against 3 quality opponents, all on the road this year. We should have a pretty decent idea of what this year's team is made of in its first week of play. Quote

UND92,96 Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Take away December (which is horrible) and it looks pretty good Yeah, that December schedule is pretty bad. Fortunately, the women host a couple of interesting opponents that month in Glenville State (elite 8 team last year), and Montana State. Quote
GeauxSioux Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I'm sure that scheduling is going to get harder before it gets any better, with next year being the toughest. Quote
bincitysioux Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 For what it is worth, the winning % of the DII opponents on UND's schedule this year is about .510. So it should be a good schedule for what I think is a team that showed alot of potential last year and should only be better this year. Also, the schedule for UND athletics has worked out brilliantly this year. If any of you are fans like me that have to travel some distance to go to events, there are several dates this season in which you could attend multiple sporting events on the same day. Oct. 13: FB, Hockey Nov. 3: FB, Hockey Nov. 24: Mens BB, Hockey Dec. 7: Womens BB, Hockey Dec. 8: Mens BB, Womens BB, Hockey Dec. 28: Womens BB, Hockey Feb. 23: Hockey, Womens BB, Mens BB I can tell you from experience that it is a blast to spend an entire day watching Fighting Sioux athletics. I'd encourage anyone who is a hockey fan, a football fan, a basketball fan, or a fan of all three to take advantage of these dates. Quote
