UND95 Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Glad we made them pay for that penalty. What a stupid penalty to take at that point in the gaem, no need to run Brandt at all. Go Sioux!!!!!!! Quote
Ghost of Smith Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Ever since I was at the wcha final five game where we pulled the goalie against st. cloud and we came back to tie I have great faith in the open goal option. A loss now would be hard to swallow. Quote
If only we had Belfour Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 See I should have burnt it sooner. No sooner is it lit up, then so is the scoreboard. YEAHHHHHHH Quote
UNDLAW Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 No jinx here... But does the WCHA use the tie/total goal thing still, or do they go sudden death until somone wins? Quote
UND95 Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 I believe Sweeny said Sudden Death, we can play all night if we have too. Quote
If only we had Belfour Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 the total goal thig is gone they play OT. That is why it is now 2 out of 3 games Quote
Erick Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 they need to keep up the intesity in OT, we ran into another hot goalie...man I'm getting sick of this. Quote
Ghost of Smith Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 I like the sound of sudden victory. Is this a regular intermission or a shortened one? Quote
If only we had Belfour Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Just curious. Once the SIOUX win tonight does any goalie other than Brandt play even a single game the rest of this year? I say no. I say Notermann or SPIEWAK score less than 3 minutes into OT. Quote
Ghost of Smith Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Thanks Erick. I'm going to go take up smoking. Speaking of Belfour do got some more stuff you can burn for good luck? Quote
If only we had Belfour Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 I have my wifes GOPHER champioship t-shirt from last year. Just say the word and I am in the back yard once again. Quote
Erick Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 I would like them to stick with Brandt the rest of the way, but you never know with Deano. I will have to go with the ever popular Bochenski from Parise goal in OT. I don't know about the team, but this was a good break for me...I was pacing back and forth and just getting too nervous. sorry about that ghost, it just seems to me that we've either ran into some really hot goaltending these past two months, or we are making them look like all-stars. Needless to say it's really frustrating outshooting your oppenent 2 to 1 and still losing. Quote
If only we had Belfour Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 You know what, I got it right here and the minute they drop the puck I am doing it. As long as my wife doesnt sneak down here first. (You know I should have done this long ago anyway) Quote
UND95 Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Speaking of the Gophers. Don't quote me on this, but I am pretty sure when I flipped over for a bit I heard that DeMarchi got a DQ tonight, so that means he is out for game one of the Final Five. Sounded like a pretty iffy call to be making at this time of season though, didn't see it, so can't say. Just thought that was interesting. Also, Wiso and MSU-Mankato in OT also. Quote
sprig Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 MN sweeps MTU. All other WCHA series (cept cc/uaa which is earlier in the game yet) are going to OT (Wisco/Kato, Duluth/SCSU). Quote
UND95 Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 That speaks volumes to me about the level of competition in the WCHA. Quote
jk Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 We know the Sioux are a flawed team this year. They have just seemed to not get over the edge that gets you to greatness. So in noting the following I'm not suggesting it's some sign of greatness. However, in any circumstance, it's pretty darn impressive that they have allowed only 34 shots to Denver in six periods of hockey. The Sioux have had trouble winning, but they don't stink. Quote
Erick Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 I saw it, I was watching that game and listening to the Sioux. It was pretty iffy, some punches were thrown with gloves on by some guys, other guys dropped the gloves but not too much happened. I don't think Demarchi should have got the gamer b/c it was a playoff game, and especially since some other guys dropped the gloves and only got minor penalties. MN totally dominated the game, Johnson was in net for the gophs...that's why tech got 2. yes belfour, it should have been done a long time ago Quote
UND95 Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Thanks Erick. If I was in the situation of a ref at this time of year, especially with Minnesota winning the series and not needing the Sunday game, it has to be extremely blatant for me to call a DQ. Quote
If only we had Belfour Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 I agree and they are young so they are getting invaluable experience this weekand. I went to a SSM game last year and saw Brady Murray and Parise together. And all I can say is HRKAC to JOYCE is a great comparision. It will be more impressive than any of you can imagine. Quote
