dagies Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Yeah, I hope that's true, but I bet some MIT grad could figure a way for the Huskies to still lose it. Anyway, they still have that momentum thing to worry about. Also, I'm sure the NHC crowd will still be abnormally rowdy since destroying the goophers last Friday. The buzz surrounding the team is near an all-time high and I think the atmosphere will be especially hostile to the opposing team. The Sioux could do themselves a HUGE favor by scoring first. The arena will instantly become a marihoochie style funeral home. BTW, the "meaningless game" magic stayed in the Twin Cites with Luciapet. Unfortunately they still have the WCHA title to play for on Friday night, at the least. Quote
farce poobah Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 But ... they are presenting the DQ Cup after the first period Friday. (And presumably a banner-raising ceremony shortly thereafter! J/K SCSU fans.) With any luck, the Huskies will be distracted by blizzards inside and outside. Quote
PCM Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 With any luck, the Huskies will be distracted by blizzards inside and outside. I wonder if our hockey team will even make it. I was surprised that Hakstol was on the radio tonight talking about the bus for St. Cloud leaving tomorrow morning. I wouldn't be surprised if the Interstates were shut down at some point tomorrow. Quote
HockeyMom Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I wouldn't be surprised if the Interstates were shut down at some point tomorrow. I would be surprized if the Interstates were shut down on the North Dakota side. Quote
Sioux Hockey Fanatic Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Yeah, didn't they just barely make it to one of the games last year due to bad weather? (Not SCSU but maybe in Michigan) I'm wondering how bad this is going to be, hopefully the team won't have any problems, and by Friday that all the fans will be able to get there too. Quote
Sioux-cia Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 http://www.weather.gov/view/validProds.php...W&node=KFGF What happens if the team can't make it to St. Cloud on Friday night? Quote
farce poobah Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 http://www.weather.gov/view/validProds.php...W&node=KFGF What happens if the team can't make it to St. Cloud on Friday night? Then we sweep the Huskies on Saturday and Sunday. OK, to follow the original question, I've not heard of a weather postponement for a WCHA game. It must be in the rulebook somewhere. Can anyone remember one? Quote
LeftyZL Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I say just strap a plow on to the front of the bus and let 'er go!...All joking aside, I could see the DOT leading the bus to Fargo by following a plow possibly. Just a thought. Quote
UNDLAW Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Under my scenario, it might not be as difficult as some think. On Friday night, what if :UND beats SCSUMinnesota beats MTUCC beats DUThis would mean that Minnesota wins the league title outright and SCSU is assured of second, no matter what. UND would move into third place, one point ahead of Denver. The Saturday night game would mean little to the Huskies, but would be very important for the Sioux. Who knows? Maybe Motzko would give Goepfert the night off. Under that scenario, a Saturday win for the Sioux would assure them of third place, no matter what happens with CC and DU. Let me get this straight... UND has lost 1 game the whole second half and, now that they have things somewhat in their own hands and SCSU is awaiting the Gods, NOW the Sioux will get swept? I give that a "Come On" and a "Uhhh Gahd!" Quote
fee_0405 Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 gonna be tough get more than 3 if another line doesn't find a way to score Quote

Friday would be better than today - unless they leave early enough to beat the snow - which is supposed to get heavy around here about noon time. Quote
Siouxfan_inDenver Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Lets get a couple of W's this weekend. Quote
HockeyMom Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Check out this post by SoonersNSioux. I saw it. I still doubt that it will happen.....unless of course a couple semis become jack-knifed in the same area and the road is completely plugged. Anybody heading to Devils Lake for the Northern Lights Squirt Tourney this weekend? Quote
PCM Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I saw it. I still doubt that it will happen..... Knowing what already has happened and looking at the radar to see what's headed this way now and what's still to come, I think 16-18 inches of snow in eastern North Dakota is very likely. Quote
siouxguyinstpaul Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I hope the bus driver is a good one and takes it slow. I and Sioux Hockey Fanatic are going to St. Cloud tomorrow and I hope the condtions are better - should be. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 GF to St. Cloud: about 240 miles Leave now and at 24 mph just make your 7:00 pm dinner reservation. Quote
teamsioux Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Hennessey said on radio that team was leaving around 9:00 am. Quote

sprig Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 They're going to miss their 7:00 pm dinner reservation (if they have one). McDonalds in Alexandria; may make it there by then. Quote

HockeyMom Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Ugh, what a long bus ride, they should have left yesterday. Hopefully when they hit the ice they don't have jet lag. Quote
siouxguyinstpaul Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 McDonalds in Alexandria; may make it there by then. probably have a practice scheduled for 6 pm - maybe tough to make that today - but should beat the heavy snow from the looks of the radar Quote
PCM Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 but should beat the heavy snow from the looks of the radar The radar I'm looking at has them driving directly into the heavy snow. Quote
