As UND moves towards DIAA in football, I've been thinking about issues we

My thought is that UND could approach the University of Illinois and/or the Florida State Seminoles about starting the Hostile and Abusive Bowl game. Or, maybe we expand it to a four team competition. This could be a traveling trophy with a Fighting Sioux logo on one side and Chief Illiniwek, Chief Oscelola and perhaps Utah or Central Michigan on the other sides.

The schools wouldn't create any kind of traveling trophy: that would serve to provoke the NCAA and the PC crowd.

I could see however, a basketball tournament among FSU, CMU, Utah, UND, and maybe Illinois, in connection with some other Indian cultural events, where some proceeds would go to Indian scholarships. That would be a win-win situation, and the immoral views of the PC crowd would be further exposed if they attacked it.

I'm aware of Wisconsin's inane policy of not playing schools with Native American mascots, but I didn't know that Minnesota also did such a thing .

I don't see UND playing Florida St. anytime soon, but Illinois is just the type of I-A program that could be willing to pay a school UND to come to Champaign for a guarantee game.

You're right that basketball was brought up earlier in the thread, but it was and is still a football thread hence the word bowl in the title. The question that you answered with a picture of SDSU basketball used the term I-A program. A Bison fan would have tarred and feathered you for using basketball to answer a question with I-A in it.
