Sioux_Hab-it
Beat ya, Sioux_Hab-it. Doh, I like the name for a different reason than Mafiaman. A former Hab, Toe Blake, was known as the Lamplighter in his playing days.
Slap Shot
"the red-light district" --for how many red lights they set off(from scoring...and its also a play on words) It's otherwise known as a double entendre. btw this reminds me of a Monty Python skit: Man: Is, uh,... Is your wife a goer, eh? Know whatahmean, know whatahmean, nudge nudge, know whatahmean, say no more? Squire: I, uh, I beg your pardon? Man: Your, uh, your wife, does she go, eh, does she go, eh? Squire: Well, she sometimes 'goes', yes. Man: Aaaaaaaah bet she does, I bet she does, say no more, say no more, know whatahmean, nudge nudge? Squire: I'm afraid I don't quite follow you. Man: Follow me. Follow me. That's good, that's good! A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat! Squire: Are you, uh,... are you selling something? Man: SELLING! Very good, very good! Ay? Ay? Ay? (pause) Oooh! Ya wicked Ay! Wicked Ay! Oooh hooh! Say No MORE! Squire:Well, I, uh.... Man:Is, your uh, is your wife a sport, ay? Squire:Um, she likes sport, yes! Man:I bet she does, I bet she does! Squire:As a matter of fact she's very fond of cricket. Man:'Oo isn't? Likes games, eh?Knew she would. Likes games, eh? She's been around a bit, been around? Squire: She has traveled, yes. She's from Scarsdale. (pause) Man:SAY NO MORE!! Scarsdale, saynomore, saynomore, saynomore, squire! Squire:I wasn't going to! Man:Oh! Well, never mind. Dib dib? Is your uh, is your wife interested in... photography, ay? 'Photographs, ay', he asked him knowlingly? Squire:Photography? Man:Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more? etc., etc., etc.
THETRIOUXPER
Slappy reminds me of one of the "Back to the Future" movie's when Biff says "why don't you make like a tree.........and get outta here".
MafiaMan
Doh, I like the name for a different reason than Mafiaman. A former Hab, Toe Blake, was known as the Lamplighter in his playing days. Whoa whoa whoa whoa. I can honestly say I've never been to "The Lamplighter." A couple of my softball teammates went there about a year ago and didn't exactly give the place rave reviews. Two thumbs down...way down.

mikeypat15
Super Mario Line, it has no meaning, but toews could be mario, duncan luigi (maybe the other way around because luigi is the taller one) and we got our Yoshie

oldralph
Of all the names for this line I've read so far, I like the Canadian-Pacific line the best. It is clever and it fits. That said, I'm guessing people will go with the DOT line because it's simple and could be thought of in relation to all the dots on the shot chart that the line generates. Of course, it's their initials too.....but should Duncan get top billing? Maybe the TOD line is more like it
sagard
Is it on Fox News or ESPN? I can't believe you don't know the Colbert Report? It's well to the right of Fox News. You get your lefty propaganda from the Daily Show, then follow it up with the Colbert Report for some balance. You'll love it! How about the "truthiness" line? IM using the DOT line in my sig until we get one DOT, means DUNCAN,OSHIE,TOEWS obviously, but i like referring to the DOT as in a PERIOD...end of discussion....."try and stop us" or lets hope they stay together as well on the ice, i assume they will if we keep winning

For those who aren't familiar, Colbert has an excellent show. He does a way over the top parody of a self-important news/talk show host. Anyway, the Saginaw? OHL team named their mini mascot after him. Now he shows highlights of the hockey team on his show, and makes a big deal about it It would be fun and humorous publicity. But if you haven't seen the show, there's no way I can effectively describe how cool this could be.
