Who's staying home? Where should we meet?

Hey to all the po' folk Sioux fans who are too broke to make the trip to St. Paul this weekend. Let's take Friday afternoon off of work and meet somewhere to watch the game. Where will you all be? Some suggestions: Joe Dimagio's (huge tv and tons of food), Dagwoods (lots of TV's and no smoke - good food too), BWW (good wings and lots of green beer and TV's). What do you suggest? Let's take over an establishment with our green jerseys, drink some green beer and cheer on the Sioux together!

Myself and some other posters on here are planning on meeting at BWW up North - in the nice part of town ;)

Nice part of town yes (actually better part), and I like the north BW3 more, but...

Way too many Gopher fans. We went up there for the Fri. night game in Jan. and were the only Sioux fans in the joint. I've been to several games at S-BW3 and much better mix of a crowd.

I don't know, maybe it's all of Danny's latent neighbors? ???

I have a better idea. Meet at 8:00 am at BWW, decide who has the biggest vehicle, each pay about $10 for gas (both ways), and drive to the Xcel Energy Center 3.5 hours east.

Any Sioux fans who need a place to camp out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night (or any combination of those, depending on your road-trip needs) are more than welcome to do so at my place.

The more Sioux fans at the X, the better.

Any suggestions for places in Bismarck. There are Sioux Fans in Western ND too.

See above post and insert this:

Leave Bismarck at 5:00 am and meet at BWW at 8:00 am in Fargo. ???

Seriously, I venture out to west of Dickinson every now and then and am amazed that Sioux hockey fans exist out there too. In fact, during the 2001 Final Five, a group of guys sitting behind me happened to mention "Dickinson" and I was shocked to discover they were indeed from there. One of them was the head honcho at Applebee's out there. Way to support the team...good Sioux hockey fans just don't live in Fargo or Grand Forks.

True - but they should not be out on a Friday afternoon watching ND and WI play - even if they are they would likely be cheering for ND or at least against WI.

The last time I was at BW3 up North they had the Gopher game on the big screen and it was full of Gopher fans. The last time I was at Bennigans in Moorhead it was full of Sioux fans. I guess the hockey fans around here really pull for the local kids. The Sioux need to recruit Weisgarber or Galt -they will increase the Fargo ticket sales.

Maybe you could find some people willing to drive up to Grand Forks/EGF from Mpls/St Paul and watch the game at Whitey's?

Didn't someone recently mention how cheap it is to take the train?

I can vouch for that. Amtrak leaves Mpls/St Paul at around 11 pm and arrives in Williston at 11 am the following morning. On the return trip, it leaves Williston at 6-7 pm, which I'm guessing puts the train in Grand Forks around 10-11 pm. I've taken it many times and it's always been a good experience. In fact, my mom has taken the train probably a dozen times between Mpls and Williston so she can visit family here. A round-trip ticket would be less than $100 guaranteed.

I've offered my apartment couch to anyone who drives down and needs to or wants to stay on the cheap.

If anyone is interested in taking MafiaMan up on his offer, I am leaving Thursday to go down there. All I would charge would be a beer(s). I have room for about 2-3 more.
