denbo1
Is there any place that will have the game on?
tuggnutt
There is a women's hockey game at 5pm at the Ralph (Olympic Ice) and the basketball floor is up on the main ice....I dont think they'll be hosting any "big screen parties". YaneA
I just heard, second-hand, that channel 23 in Grand Forks has made a deal to broadcast tonight's game live at 7:05.
siouxgrad
If anyone knows how to get in touch with channel 23, please let me know. I'd love to find out if I can get the satellite coordinates. Thanks.
The Sicatoka
Channel 23 in GF? Is that "The Fighting Sioux Sports Network" channel up there? If so, is it possible that the rest of us with access to that will also be as blessed? You gotta have a dream!
YaneA
Yes, that's the Fighting Sioux Sports Network. I didn't hear the announcement myself so I don't know if the broadcast tonight is statewide or not. But, I'm pumped to get to see the game live, with the sound turned down, of course, and Hennessey doing play-by-play on the radio.
schmidtdoggydog
My buddy and I just contacted Channel 23 out of GF and they did confirm that the game will be shown in GF at 7:00 tonight. For those in Fargo, however, the game will not be shown tonight.
The Sicatoka
Call 'em back and tell 'em to put it on all of the Midcontinent Cable portion Fighting Sioux Sports Network. Please! Forget those Cable One weenies in Fargo!
GDM
Your friendly neighborhood moderator just called Midcontinent Cable. The person I talked to said they'll have the game on their cable systems on the channel that normally carries the Fighting Sioux Sports Network. Those cities and channels are listed here. schmidtdoggydog
Sioux fans in Fargo who are interested there is a group of us going out to the Roadhouse bar in Horace to watch the game. The TV is not huge, 25" or so, but it is better than nothing. The bar has been contacted and they are expecting us and will reserve the TV for us. Join us if you can. YaneA
Terrific news! Who can we thank at Midcontinent for making this happen?
BigGreyAnt41
this is the best news I've heard all week. since fightingsioux.com doesn't list these games as being televised, I thought i'd be sitting by my computer listening to the webcast all night. but if I can watch it, wooooOO! kr
On 1310 am one of the hosts said that this e-mail should work to express thanks for the added in broadcast: pat_mcadaragh@mmi.net (I hope that is the correct last name as I was driving when they spelled that name.) BigGreyAnt41
In case there are still skeptics, the splash screen on channel 23 says: "UND Sioux Vs. Minnesota Gophers 7:00 tonight" now, does anybody know about tomorrow nights game? edit: nevermind, it looks like they are diong a men's bball game tomorrow, so no hockey for us. denbo1
The guy at Midcontinent said that Sat. game would be on Fox.
teamsioux
Saturday's game is on Fox Sports (CH. 51 in GF) so there is no need to worry.
sprig
Must be nice. Sitting here in NWND in one of very few towns that doesn't have cable from Midcontinent. Stinks. Our rural telco has the cable (bought it from Midco), and there's rumblings about picking up the Siouxsports network from Midco. Lots of Sioux fans here (in the only small town that has a hockey program out here) putting pressure on them, maybe by next season??? Not much left this year, with only two more home series (and a WCHA playoff series, I imagine). Have heard that WDAY will stream video for the CC game next Friday. If anyone has a link to where this can be accessed, please post it.
The Sicatoka
sprig: Be bold. Be adventureous. Drive to the nearest "civilized" town and find a pub and ask for the game to be put on the tube.
Fighting Sioux Hockey
So does anybody know for sure if the hockey game will be on friday night in South Dakota. On Fightingsioux.com they say it is a local broadcast only. Any feedback would be great or if anybody knows how to contact midcontinent i would appreciate it. Thanks. sprig
sprig: Be bold. Be adventureous. Drive to the nearest "civilized" town and find a pub and ask for the game to be put on the tube. Civilization is at least 70 miles away. Since all of you are watching, I guess I'll be alone with streaming audio. Don't know if I can handle all that bandwidth. Maybe I'll hear the goals 30 seconds before they happen tonight, rather than a minute after they're scored
missthebarn
The game is on 24 in Fargo
