Cratter
Assistant professor Anthony Reeves shocked university officials with accusations that the school's music department chair made unwanted visits to his home, suggested they watch gay pornographic movies together and made suggestive comments to his life partner. Prof: Rejection of chair's visits led to dismissal

The Sicatoka
No, PCM. More like, You don't really need to find out what's going on You don't really want to know just how far it's gone
jimdahl
It's tough -- while there is definitely a line somewhere between reporting the news and appealing to base sensationalism, I understand how people find this newsworthy. I personally have the same feeling I do when people rip on athletes on the message boards: I feel uncomfortable observing the impassioned personal criticims, but I also recognize that the people being discussed have intentionally put themselves in a situation where their performance would be observed by an interested public. All allegations bear a newsworthiness problem in that anyone can accuse anyone else of anything. At what point is an allegation news or worthy of discussion -- when alleged or only when the accused is found to actually be guilty? The latter is undoubtedly fairer to the accused, but this situation was long ago thrust into public scrutiny.
southpaw
Personally, I've been sick of this story for a while... yet that hasn't stopped me from airing it during the news. There's certain reporters in GF who see this as a way bigger deal than it actually is and they continually bring stories to the table about it. It's a matter of if the reporter goes out of his way to do the story, we might as well air it because some people care.
Cratter
When does one news report become bigger than another? I think a lot of people care about this story. There hasn't been a thread dedicated to it yet....so here it is. I am sure there are people on this board who have interactions with Mr. Reeves who would like to share their personal experiences, yet don't want to make it "official." jloos
1. Gay porn + 2. Gay love triangle + 3. Professor adopting 18 year old lovechild + 4. turned public scandle = CBS miniseries Just wait until the national media gets on this story. If Reeves keeps playing the "sexuality card" they are sure to glam on at some point.
dakotadan
Just wait until the national media gets on this story. If Reeves keeps playing the "sexuality card" they are sure to glam on at some point. This is a very good point. If this keeps going on like it currently is, this could become a national spectacle. That is all that UND needs right now, more controversy on the national stage.
