Runninwiththedogs
Now it's 4-3 Wisconsin... where's that defense everyone's talking about?
Runninwiththedogs
Final 4-3 Wisconsin, despite the referees giving the Gophers a PP w/less than 2 minutes to go. I thought the Badgers had a great penalty kill in those last few minutes, and the Gophers PP was just shooting at bodies, couldn't even get it to the net. Bear Man
Final 4-3 Wisconsin, despite the referees giving the Gophers a PP w/less than 2 minutes to go. I thought the Badgers had a great penalty kill in those last few minutes, and the Gophers PP was just shooting at bodies, couldn't even get it to the net. Yes the BADgers had a great penalty kill at the end. But, to be fair to the Goofers - they dominated the last 7 minutes of the game and had several chances to tie it up. The last penalty on Wisconsin WAS legitimate - cross check into the boards at center ice. Elliot made a GREAT save with 25 seconds to go laying on his back - Goofer had open net - didnt lift it high enough - Elliot able to glove it. BADgers are a great team - no doubt about it. I still worry that the Goofers are getting better and better. They outshot the BADgers about 38 - 25 or so ?? Sioux getting better by the day too - - let's plan for a sweep this and next weekend. dagies
Thanks for the lines siouxnami. I was getting worried that all our scoring was coming from 1 line again. Glad to see that at least a couple other lines got a goal tonite. It's time to start seeing some of this offensive depth pay off in a consistent manner, and we'll need that threat against the moron and gold next week. Congratulations to Sparky for the hat trick! Way to go Kozek getting your first goal that counts! Glad to hear Toews was tapped as playing such a good game, even if he didn't figure on the scoresheet. Watched a lot of the WI/MN game. WI is a disciplined team and they play physical. However, they make some STUPID decisions with the puck and are lucky a skilled team like MN didn't capitalize on some chances. However, watching that game I feel better (well, sort of) about being swept by Bucky a couple weeks ago. They are a very good team. I'm ticked at them for letting MN off the floor at the end of the game. Harrington looked demoralized between the 2nd and 3rd period during his interview, and Atherton couldn't conjure up much emotion even when he scored the 2nd goal. They looked "beat". But Bucky kind of went to sleep, I think, and MN found out they had a chance if they played hard. I don't like MN learning they can win if they play hard, because I think that's about the only piece they are missing. If anyone was able to listen to Hak's interview after the game I'd be curious if there was much worth mentioning.
PCM
Who cares? Just put me on ignore. And I'm not the only one who does it. And your game is over. It seems that this is the third straight season you've done this, despite complaints from others on this board. But you got your wish. I'm ignoring you from now on. MafiaMan
haha, no, just collect them..i do wear them when i attend sioux games though..not sure about the years when they wore the NORTH DAKOTA jersey..maybe someone here can help with that.. UND started wearing the NORTH DAKOTA jerseys in the 1993 season after the new owners of the Chicago Blackhawks decided to charge UND for using the logo. I believe that style of jersey was worn until the 1996 season when the geometric Indian head was used. The 1997 and 2000 title teams both wore the geometric version (as did the 2001 runner-up team). Goon
For the benefit of the Skippies who check out this site. Toews didn't score a point tonight but got the nod from TH and Hak as one of the three stars. I believe someone else has been on the ice for at least two of Bucky's goals tonight. So you can stay away this week. Thank you. You forgot to mention he got 4 minutes in penalties. Looked a little pre-occupied with the BADger players to keep his focus. Actually Briggs looked horrible last night in net, I wonder what he have to do to get him to play both this next weekend. The pylons are also looking really offensive with no defense what so ever. I like how we match up against the Goofers. Should be a track meet with our team having the better goaltending and defense.
PCM
Thanks for posting. I like to know what's going on around the WCHA. As I have said for three seasons now, I have absolutely have no problem with occasional updates of scores from other games being posted in a Sioux game thread. I do have a problem with running play-by-play from other games being posted in a thread that's supposed to be about a particular game. That practice is simply rude, especially when it's not being done by Sioux fans and other members of the board have complained about it. It's not that difficult to start a thread devoted to other games going on in the WCHA or around the country, which more courteous posters have done. Kermit
I'll try again I think the lines were: Toews, Zajac, Spirko Porter, Oshie, Stafford Prpich, Watkins, Fabian Kozek, Duncan, Miller Hennessy talked to Hak specifically about how Duncan seemed to help Kozek and Miller settle down. OETKB
If anyone was able to listen to Hak's interview after the game I'd be curious if there was much worth mentioning. TH mentioned that Spirko didn't even break a sweat scoring his three goals tonight. But Hak took offense to that, and talked about how hard he worked to beat guys into position and what good hockey sense he used to know when to go to the net. Hak also came to the defense of Finley, saying that he has made good strides and that he played a pretty good game, despite the mistake that cost MT's only goal. Personal note: It seems to me that Hak is getting more comfortable saying what he wants during interviews, even to the point where he sounded annoyed with TH last night.
