Johnny Five Posted Thursday at 03:23 PM Posted Thursday at 03:23 PM Those stories are brutal....awkward transition attempt here, but.... Speaking of HS football, anytime AAA/AA or football classifications come up in ND KNOX Ryan has an absolute meltdown. And he usually points the finger at the Bismarck coaches for some reason. Odd stance for a "media" member....anger management issues? trying to fish for clicks? Or is he just a clown? Quote
Johnny Five Posted Thursday at 03:25 PM Posted Thursday at 03:25 PM Also transition....Barman (not sure if that's spelled right) kid from Ray is going on some major visits this fall, including the likes of Ohio State and Oklahoma. Just a SOPH. There is some unreal talent being produced in ND. I believe he currently sits in the top 20 recruits in the entire country for his age group. Quote

I don't know exactly what Cunningham's deal is, but I think the NDHSAA should just use largely the same classifications for football that are used in basketball. That would put Central, Red River, Fargo South, Jamestown, Dickinson, Minot North and St. Mary's back up to the top division. Most of those schools would be very competitive with at least the bottom half of the current AAA. Quote

You have to look at participation numbers, not School enrollment. The games are much more completive now verses when schools were grouped by enrollment. Also if schools start to win too much, they are moved up to the next class. More high school and college sports should be this way. I'm a big fan of relegation. Quote
Johnny Five Posted Thursday at 10:35 PM Posted Thursday at 10:35 PM The fact that Minot North (next year) and Horace are AAA after just a handful of years and the 2 GF schools, Dickinson, Williston and South are with schools the size of Kindred and Central Cass is classic. Competitively, it makes sense I guess. If the schools don't make football a priority, that's the way it is. Fundamentally, with similar enrollments, it's laughable. I honestly don't care either way, I don't have a dog in the fight. I was just curious why radio man is so angry about it. Quote

Despite the fact that they haven't been even remotely relevant in football since about 2008. But they have a very large enrollment, so they are forced to be AAA. I agree with you as to the rest of your post. The thing is, the two GF schools and Dickinson are actually pretty good right now in football. A lot better than Williston. Quote
Johnny Five Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Oops...yea I see North beat them by 2 TDs and then Dickinson nuked them. Davies v Legacy tonight. Let's see if Legacy is legit or not. 1 v 3 on paper. Central at Dickinson. North at RR. A couple interesting match ups to follow. Quote

There were a bunch of good seniors across the state, Davies had a ton of them. Legacy and Horace, too. Quote
Johnny Five Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Yeah that's why these 4 non counters in AAA are kinda fun to start the season. 1 Quote
