UND Fan
The first IAC meeting since Buning joined us is being held this afternoon. It will be interesting what/if anything comes out of this meeting. They will approve the minutes of the May meeting so those should be posted in the next day or two. dakotadan
From my understanding the budget has been Bunning's biggest focus since he started on July 1. It will be interesting to see how it all works out.
star2city
Where does this shortfall money come from? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With UND using tuition waivers for women's hockey, the total amount of tuition waived will normally show up on the books as "deficit" spending. UND92,96
Here are the minutes from the September meeting. This was the most interesting information: Budget: One of the critical areas addressed was the Department of Athletics budget shortfall. Tom Buning indicated that if no changes were made to the Athletic budget, Athletics would end the year $680,000 in debt. He is working with Alice Brekke, Director of the Budget Office, and Juli Reisnour, Athletics Business Manager, to solve this problem. They have a three prong plan to cut the budget. One third will be from across the board budget cuts, one third will be from staff and personnel changes and one third will be from an increase in fund raising.Judy DeMers questioned UND
