  1. Read the original post--I noted that. The point is that basketball, with more seats, sold out every game two years in a row. Hockey is a couple thousand short, per game, on average...now, where's thay yawn smilie?!?
  2. Yada, yada, yada...same old crap...do the math, davey-boy....
  3. According to the Wisconsin site, Kohl seats 17,142 for basketball, 14,000 for hockey. According to the NCAA, Wisconsin averaged 17,142 per game in '04 for baseketball, 11,701 for hockey...you do the math...
  4. The one thing I'm truly--and I mean TRULY--thankful for this year is that DaveK is a Sioux fan....with all the crap he spews, both here and on Bisonville, can you imagine how you folks would nail us if he was a Bison fan!?!?!?!?
  5. Something that a number of people, including me, have tossed around is the frozen four monies. I can't find a reliable estimate of how much is distributed, though. ESPN has an article stating that from '81 to '91 the tourney dispersed an average of $100,000 per year to the tournament teams, with the highest year being about $650,000 to the field of 12. Since then, though, they've changed the format, and the monies don't go to the teams but to the D1 conferences that each belongs to. So, does anyone know how much is being distributed now? I know the revenues have gone up greatly in the last few years....
  6. Geez, I'd really like some of this action, but its way too rich for my blood...I limit myself to 24 oz. wagers!!
  7. From what I've heard, that's not the case--waivers may be under consideration for the future, but I don't believe they've been used in the past...Maybe Irv is just better than you guys think?!
  8. Replying would compromise my status as an International Man of Mystery, so I must respectfully decline to say....
  9. I probably would have been much more effective for the last minute of the UND/UNO game!
  10. Just keeping it interesting for the crowds!!
  11. They brought in a new provost a couple of years ago who wasn't very popular and who left rather abruptly...guy who replaced him is the guy who was in charge of the UofMn Cooperative Extension re-organization, so I think that may have started some rumors. I have heard folks from GF talking about the school having some problems, but haven't heard anything specific....
  12. Eh, beauty contests...I'll take the NSF numbers, thank you...
  13. Tough night for the Jets, but I would agree--Bollinger didn't look bad overall...
  14. The NDSU data is last year's (03 - 04), not this year's...not sure what's going on...

Part of that might be due to Varsity Mart at NDSU...their prices and selection are better than Scheel's for NDSU gear....I read the same story, though....
  16. From the Atlanta Journal Constitution website: http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/1...NWUbTTUWUXUTUZT[uUUWUbU]UZU]U^UcTYWYWZV&urcm=y Site is free, but you might have to register....
  17. Right...as I read it, the NCAA is saying that their rules apply to the BCS because they license and approve the BCS...
  18. To determine the validity of Proctor's statement, you'd have to look at the student fee allocation over several years to see if it changed at all. I'm guessing that would have been reported in the student newspaper, but it might be hard to run down now...
  19. If NDSu does finish $200,000 in the red for the year, that would still be half of the $400,000 in red ink that the EADA reported for UND in 03-04....not sure I see your point here....
  20. Universities also have to report on-campus crimes each year...the Chronicle of Higher Education reports these figures on a yearly basis--you should be able to find UND's online somewhere... Edited: I think you can find the numbers here: http://ope.ed.gov/security/search.asp Not sure if it will help with who the victim was, though (i.e., NA vs. non-NA)... Edited yet again: It does include a listing of cases described as "hate offenses"...
