Still committed to Denver. Will have to play extra years of junior before getting to campus or will have to decommit to go elsewhere to play sooner

Hoping Bryn Chyzyk is all in for Maddox Schultz (2010) and Liam Pue (2010), both of the Regina Pats

Brock England is having a solid rookie season with Seattle in the WHL. He currently has 39 points in 44 games. He’ll be a top target for the 27/28 season, assuming he makes the jump to college.

Both are very good. Both grew extremely early so that has a part in their gaudy stats. As far as McMillian goes, he already is about 6’2” so he may be the bigger prize.

when looking at the WHL rankings (for what’s they’re worth  ) remember, they’re missing a ton of great US players. The 2011 group out of MN is absolutely stacked.

I generally take every player (especially in Minnesota) with a grain of salt until they start producing in junior, especially at younger ages in junior. Yes, junior production doesn't always translate, but it's certainly a good indicator when you can adjust from lower levels to a higher level and produce quickly.

Completely agree. At the bantam ages there are kids that grew early that dominate, others are late bloomers so simply playing high end aaa is an elite feat in itself. By juniors, they’re all grown for the most part, that’s when it matter the most.

Yes, some guys don’t transition well.  Guys like Jimmy Egan, Sam Spehar, Blake Vanek and Mason Kraft aren’t exactly ripping up the WHL.  Doesn’t mean they can’t make nice contributions in college, but each step up the ladder gets that much harder.

I take Minnesota HS production & HS players in general with a massive grain of salt because there's a relatively large hype train that comes from MN HS Hockey that overinflates player quality. Many guys do in fact turn out & become great in the NCAA or even the NHL, but many do not. I remember Ryder Donovan, Nick Pierre, Blake Biondi, Max Strand, Jack Peart and many others being overhyped as recruits/NHL prospects simply because of their HS prestige/résumé. Teddy Townsend and Leo Gruba are two current Gophers that have been overrated simply because of them being damn good MN HS players.

Yeah...Minny HS hockey you have to take a look at the conference and strength of schedule a kid plays in...then you def need to consider the player's age...freshmen and sophomores who are killing it are different than seniors who are killing it, especially if that senior re-classed to be older.

Would disagree on Gruba, as many on here were super disappointed when we didn’t have room for Gruba because of the numbers he put up in the USHL, where he was a first team all star.

Gruba didn't put up big numbers in junior until his 20 year old season, that tends to indicate you're not as good as someone putting up big numbers in their 17 or 18 year old season. Simple

Got it, so UND shouldn’t have bothered with LaDue and the Poolmans, and Western shouldn’t have taken a bunch of the players they took that didn’t produce as much when they were younger, including their current leading scorer Grant Slukynsky.

Gruba is a meh depth player who got hyped up like he was far better than what he is in reality. That's my point. Depth guys are necessary but they are what they are, they aren't elite.

Slukynsky is a great development story, but there was no indication that he'd breakout when he transferred from Northern Michigan to Western Michigan, other than Ferschweiler being elite at turning nobodies into dudes every year
