UNDGuy Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Anyone hav any news on this. I've heard through a few people that he left the team for med. reasoning.
ESPNInsider Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I heard the same thing last night. Have an idea what it is, but we should wait until this is announced.

ESPNInsider Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4535&hl= <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't see any additional info? Thanks for link though.
teamsioux Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I have also heard that it is possible that he maybe able to play next year though.
Eskimos Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I didn't see any additional info? Thanks for link though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did, the fact that it had been discussed here three weeks ago.
Cratter Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Great, not sure that that is additional info though From what I've heard he won't be playing next year, or ever. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How do you know so much about UND from Chicago?
UND92,96 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Although this isn't about Drew Thomas, it appears that another injured player, Andy Hoffelt, will be returning next season, according to this article in the Williston paper.

Did you lose the web address to the Lakota Times?

UND92,96 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Why are you reading the Williston Paper? Did you lose the web address to the Lakota Times? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I don't typically read the Williston paper. But I will do a google news search almost daily for North Dakota football-related stories. It's a good way to read up on local angle stories from players' home town papers, as well as to get recruiting info. I thought the Hoffelt info was news-worthy since when his name was removed from the roster a few weeks ago, it appeared that perhaps his career was over.
ESPNInsider Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Now I've heard that Drew has MS. He went to Rochester to get a second opinion after Altru made their diagnosis. That's horrible news. I feel terrible for Drew. Hope that his health allows him to live a fullfilling lifestyle. I've never heard of someone getting it at this age. Does anyone know more about the disease? If so, could you fill me in a bit.

CoteauRinkRat Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Feel free not too. I wasn't going to post it, but I just wanted to let people know how serious this is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let Drew and his family tell the public if they want to.
Brent_Bobyck Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 I don't agree with this kind of information being on a message board when it is a potentially serious subject like this. I vote for this thread to be erased.
ESPNInsider Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 I heard this from a few different people so I figured it was relatively common knowledge.
UNDGuy Posted September 2, 2005 Author Posted September 2, 2005 Wow, I just heard this too. That's too bad. My thoughts and prayers are with Drew. Hopefully the doctors at Rochester find out it's something else.
