SWSiouxMN Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 78-73 after that Konchar 3 TO UND 7:28 to go this game has had so many swings. UND is going to have to stop this one and swing back. Get it back to double digits. Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 Hope there will be a free archived game on Fort Wayne's site to watch later. Quote
BarnWinterSportsEngelstad Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Great win, way to hang in there at the end - something we have not been good at on the road. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 So with the win, UND cannot be seeded lower that 7th in Sioux Falls. The games that UND should be watching now ORU up on Omaha 39-34 at the half (an ORU win would mean that UND could not be the 5th seed, an ORU loss means that if UND wins they would overtake ORU for the 5th seed) NDSU up 15-12 on USD halfway through the first Quote

Now, I don't know how to say this, but do we want USD to lose? Quote
BarnWinterSportsEngelstad Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 We have one more win than SD (which is playing right now, could be tie) and we play them in our last game so I would think we have to beat them no matter what? Quote

Now, I don't know how to say this, but do we want USD to lose? Depends. No matter what happens tonight, UND and USD will be playing for the 6th seed for sure. It could also be a battle for the 5th seed depending on their result against NDSU (not sure on the tiebreakers for ORU and USD, haven't done the research). My preference would be to be on the same side of the bracket as Omaha and play NDSU in the first round. Omaha is likely to win out, so I want UND to do the same. Quote
AJS Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 If UND finishes with the same record as ORU, they will lose the tie-breaker since ORU will have a better record against Omaha. http://www.thesummitleague.org/tournaments/ten/2017-18/tiebreakers Quote

AJS Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 They way it looks to me, here's the following scenarios: ORU wins tonight - 5th (Have tie breakers on both UND / USD) ORU loses tonight - Winner UND / USD is 5th, loser is 7th Edit: I don't think the USD / NDSU game would have any impact on UND's potential seed 1 Quote

So it might not be bad for USD to win to keep NDSU at the 4 and hope Omaha wins out, then UND has to take care of business or get a 1st round date with SDSU. Quote
