SiouxVolley Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Apparently, the Big Sky has resolved the schedules for 2018 and 2019. Montana released their conference schedule, and their perpetual playing partners are now MSU & Idaho rather than MSU & EWU. Doesn't appear that any other school has released their conference schedule for those years. Montana will be playing in Grand Forks on 10/13/18 but no game is scheduled for 2019. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 So the Sky created a new football schedule cluster of Montana, Montana State, and Idaho. Quote

Doubt it, Montana State will probably just get Northern Colorado as their rival to fill in the void that is going to be left by you guys. Not sure how they are going to do the scheduling while you are in your transition, My guess is you guys will probably not have any protected rivals, instead your "conference schedule" will be just a mix of 8 random Big Sky teams. Siouxperfan7 Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Am I missing something? Hasn't the Big Sky schedule through 2019 been out for awhile? This article below is dated 5/12/14. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209494583 Why are Montana and EWU just realizing they won't be playing each other every year? Quote

Idaho's move to the Big Sky made those schedules obsolete. Quote

Only to a degree, the schedules were adjusted for football by adding Idaho because they were made so far out (2019). In our negotiations, in leaving the Big Sky, there was no buy out is we stayed through 2019, because the schedules were made. Other sports, schedules weren't made out as far and therefore, we agreed on leaving with them after this season. Quote
