The Sicatoka Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 The USS North Dakota now has a coat of arms. If this stays talking about this coat of arms I'll leave this thread open. If it turns to possible new UND monikers I'll close it. Keep the moniker talk in the "New Moniker" thread. Thanks. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 Wow. The symbology was updated quickly: Wikipedia on USS North Dakota Quote
sioux34 Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Can the NCAA make the navy take the tomahawks off the coat of arms? Quote
Feff Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Awesome article though and a well-thought out coat of arms. Quote
darell1976 Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Wrapping across the crest is a banner with two Native American tomahawks, representing the state’s Native American Indian heritage and Tomahawk Cruise Missiles, one of the weapons capabilities the USS NORTH DAKOTA can employ. I can see the NCAA having problems with the Tomahawks. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 NCAA != US NAVY I'll side with the Navy. Why? They have tomahawks. Quote
UNDColorado Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 That is a really cool coat of arms. You can tell some thought was put into the design. Quote
