Hepp Leaves SCSU, goes pro - SC Times

Senior defenseman Chris Hepp has signed a professional contract to play for the Idaho Steelheads and left the St. Cloud State men’s hockey team.

Hepp, a 23-year-old from Savage who was an assistant captain for the Huskies, practiced with the Steelheads on Tuesday morning and is listed on the team roster. Idaho is a minor league team for the Dallas Stars and plays in the ECHL. Phone messages for Hepp have not been returned.

Huskies senior assistant captain Garrett Roe said he was surprised by Hepp’s decision.

“I didn’t really see it coming, but he made a decision to sign a pro contract. That’s good for him and we wish him the best future possible,” Roe said. “We’ll be following him and rooting for him all the way.

Three Men's Hockey Players Off Team-Mosey Dismissed For Violation of Team Rules - KVSC

News broke yesterday that Senior Defenseman Chris Hepp has left the St. Cloud State Huskies and has signed a pro contract with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL. KVSC can now also confirm that senior forward Tony Mosey has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.

Amid this news, rumors are flowing on internet message boards about a possible off-ice incident while in Florida that led to Hepp's or Mosey’s dismissal and potential repercussions for more players. This has not been confirmed by KVSC, and SCSU Athletic Media Relations has no news or information at this time regarding those rumors.

Though they do note in their Twitter feed that Johnson's departure is likely coincidental:

Bryce Johnson played 1st USHL game on 12/31. SCSU was in FL at that time, confirming he is not likely part of this rumored incident.

Furthermore Bryce Johnson posted he was headed to Omaha on Dec. 26th on his FB page-SCSU left for FL on Dec. 27.
