Smoggy
This was becoming such a great thread that I thought I'd start a poll. Yeah! My first poll. Yeah!
Smoggy
I voted outdoor. Yes it can get very cold, but I do love the element of weather. There is nothing like football on a crisp autumn day when you can smell the snow coming. Or is that Simplot? Plus tailgating just seems so much more natural when it's an outdoor game. TheSiouxFan
I don't really mind indoors, because it seems to help attendance. The thing I miss most about Memorial Stadium was at halftime you could go back outside the stadium and continue tailgating.
CoteauRinkRat
I love the outdoors, until it gets too cold that the fans are focusing on the weather rather than focus on the game.

airmail
I love football "on a crisp autumn day", but when it's 5 degrees and a 40 mph north wind, the Alerus is more my style... and fans will actually show up for the game!
WYOBISONMAN
Obviously I voted outdoor......but, I see it is a tight race between outdoor and indoor. Has CNN made any projections on the outcome of the vote??

Has CNN made any projections on the outcome of the vote?? I believe they are waiting until the polls closed to make any predictions, don't want another Florida debacle. BisonMav
I voted outdoor as a personal preference, but indoor would be best for the economics of a northern school putting fans in the stands in November.
Bisonfan1234
I think you know where i stand.
CoteauRinkRat
It is pretty even, i'm a little surprised actually so far.
Bisonfan1234
I suspect the overwhelming majority to be for outdoor since most of you are "hardcore" fans.
CoteauRinkRat
are you saying that there are no "hardcore" fans who like indoor football?
CoteauRinkRat
i would also describe a hardcore fan as one who will pay the 27.50 like everyone else to attend the biggest game of the season.
Bisonfan1234
I would say that if you decide not to go to a game because of the 30 degree temperature, then you're not a hardcore fan. I'm definately not hardcore then.
CoteauRinkRat
I'm just glad to know that although I haven't missed a home game the past three seasons, i'm not as hardcore as someone who sits at home and complains about the ticket prices and the venue the game is being played in. Bisonfan1234
Didn't you go out and support the Bison back in the days of Dakotah Field? Not when it was cold.
CoteauRinkRat
Bison1234 then you are not a hardcore fan I guess. lol, it is tough to sense the huge amount of sarcasm attached to the previous sentence.
Wilbur
I voted for outdoor, but there are sometimes when outdoor football games are absolutely horrible because of the weather. I mean I don't mind rain or snow, but when the wind chill comes into factor it makes the games unbearable. On a day with no wind chill, outdoor football will always be #1. WYOBISONMAN
The most interesting thing about this poll is that despite the fact that Bison and Sioux fans are sitting in indoor stradiums, the majority (in this poll) still like and prefer outdoor football. It make me wonder what would happend if there was a debate in either town to build another football facility. (I realize this is many years in the future.) Bisonfan1234
Like i mentioned before...this board doesn't necessarily correspond directly with the populations of either town. In other words, just because 20 or so of you sioux fans like the idea of an outdoor stadium doesn't mean the majority of GF people do...and beyiond all that...i doubt that more than a fraction of a percent would want to publically fund another building for football. I think the majority of fans on this site are "hardcore" and I do believe that most fans prefer being indoors. As for funding a new stadium; if we wanted to play outdoors (which would be nice once or twice a year) we could still play at memorial. The teams still uses it and it is a lot nicer than many of the stadiums in this country.
Bisonfan1234
Noone denies that it's just fine to be outside when the conditions are good enough. But indoor is the only way up here once it gets cold.
Smoggy
Homecoming or Potato Bowl should be at memorial. The bad news is that they have sold off some of the wooden bleacher seats. Personally, it makes the place look even better.
