Frank Ricard Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 A few of us have purchased standing room only tickets for this weekend, and I was wondering if you can actually see the game or if this was a waste of money, since the games are on TV. Also should we try to get to the rink as early as possible, not sure if it is first come first serve or if there are better spots? Thanks for any help or advice.
schmidtdoggydog Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 I have never sat up there, but have a friend who is about 6'3" or taller and he was up there for the BC series and hated it. He said he had a real difficult time seeing anything. Even at his height, he couldn't see over people and because of the large crowd (which should be expected this weekend) he couldn't see around people. He was glad to be in the arena but left disappointed because he saw so little of the game.
CoteauRinkRat Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 you can see the game and yes, get there as soon as you can.

I am wondering if you would be booted out for standing behind the ushers in the gates on the lower level. I have watched the game from there when I needed to get out really quick right after the game.

U2Bad1 Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 That's why at the next whistle you just make your way onto the next section. Keep going around in a circle!
CoteauRinkRat Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 That's why at the next whistle you just make your way onto the next section. Keep going around in a circle! I guess you could do that, but you might want to do it every 2nd whistle. Or you will be back to the same usher in no time.

You have to stand 6 feet back from the edge because the people along the rail have season tickets there. We were fortunate to find empty seats to sit in, but I doubt you would have such luck during a Gopher series. The only positive is that the SRO tickets are in the bar, and the bar has the game on.
Shawn-O Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 Beersong: Great shot of the banners! 1959 got cut off, though.
Fedorov Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 This may be a stupid question, but are we going to finally have a full crowd this weekend? I don't mean tickets sold, but people showing up. I figured there would be people gone with hunting and the concert, so have all of these seats been given away or sold?

Atta boy beersong... I was reading through this to make sure that someone brought up that fact. Imagine... being AT the game and AT the bar. The "in-person" experience with all the benefits of TV.

I'm hoping that the people who can't attend, sell/give/barter their tickets away.

I'm hoping that the people who can't attend, sell/give/barter their tickets away. I don't know if people are trying to dump the tickets. They are pretty high priced. I saw student tickets for $50 minimum. I understand that people can normally get a lot for the tickets, but as I previously said, there are a lot of things going on this weekend and I'm not sure the demand is there. I am looking for some Saturday tickets for friends if anyone has any.
CoteauRinkRat Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 I guess I feel a little different about people selling their tickets. If they have some and are trying to get rid of them, I still feel they are dumping them because you couldn't pay me enough money to give up my tickets for this weekend.
11~ZachAttack~11 Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Ticketmaster online said there isn't any tickets, but are they really sold out or do I just need to go to the Ralph and get my tickets.
CoteauRinkRat Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Ticketmaster online said there isn't any tickets, but are they really sold out or do I just need to go to the Ralph and get my tickets. unsold student tickets go on sale thursday morning at 10 am if you can't get tickets now on ticketmaster, than there are none available
margaritaville Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 I've never been able to get tickets through Ticketmaster. Last year I went online right after tickets "supposedly" went on sale and they said they were sold out. If our series history with the gophers is any indicator, the stadium will be packed this weekend. I make it up to 1 game a year and this year I'll be up on Saturday. I'm hoping for at least one Sioux win over the weekend so the goofs will shut-up with their mariucci west rips. I even heard Dubay on the radio yesterday calling it mariucci west.

tnt Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Showing up and arguing with them isn't going to put them in their place, a building without an audience will show what you think of them.

CoteauRinkRat Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Student tickets were sold out on Monday. I was just trying to answer 11ZachAttack's quesiton.
Fedorov Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 I was just trying to answer 11ZachAttack's quesiton. I was just trying to make it clear since you said unsold tickets go on sale on Thursday. I didn't want anyone to have false hope.
CoteauRinkRat Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 I was saying it in a general sense, didn't specifically say this week. relax
forecheck Posted November 7, 2003 Posted November 7, 2003 Student tickets were sold out on Monday. No they weren't. I went this morning and bought 5 tickets for a family for Saturday night, the same family whose tickets ended up being cancelled by Ticketmaster. Tickets were available both nights. When I asked the girl how many ended up being left over, she said not very many, Saturday night there were only a couple hundred. Don't know how many were left over for Friday night, but I was shocked that there were any left over. Pathetic.
sprig Posted November 7, 2003 Posted November 7, 2003 Just checked ticketmaster now and seats in 306A come up for both nights. Students all deer hunting?
