MoreSiouxForYou
This morning on KFAN, Gorg and the new FSN broadcast guy( not LaPanta) were talking about the new icing rule for college hockey. Not the short handed icing but the ?imaginary line icing? It allows a race to an imaginary line at about the hash marks to keep the puck live on line changes. Or is this the same thing and Gorg made it seem more complicated than it really is. I thought they voted out the short handed rule? Any clarification would be great. Sorry if this is a repeat q? yzerman19
It is now up to the official's discretion (linesman) to waive off icing. This is sort of a highbred to touch up icing, in that they are able to waive it off if there is a good chance that the icing team has a chance at playing the puck. tnt
It's a hybrid icing that seemingly would protect the players. If the offensive player beats the defending player to the faceoff dots, the icing is waved off. It allows some space so a guy doesn't get drilled into the boards by trying to stop icing at the puck itself.

RedFrog
DU beat the U18 team 8-1 last night...Grimaldi had an assist on the lone USA goal. Funny, now if you read up on some DU blogs, they are going to dominate just because they beat up on some 17 yo kids. Heck, Chambers goes as far as to say that they are already in midseason form and that Zucker is unstoppable. I really hope that we mop the floor with DU this year. Only to come back and get trounced by Lethbridge.
brianvf
Only to come back and get trounced by Lethbridge. Well, Lethbridge is known as a hockey power, so that's explainable. Lethbridge played CC, DU, and AFA all in a row this weekend and only managed to beat DU. It sounds (and looks) like DU's goalie didn't exactly play too well. Big A HG
I noticed the WCHA tweaked their logo a bit by making the W in the logo a bit larger. I wonder if this is reflected on the uni's this year. www.wcha.com
brianvf
This is very interesting: http://www.uscho.com/news/college-hockey/id,18863/DismissedbyBostonUniversitySaponarisayshesmovingtoBC.html Hard to imagine a player transferring to a big rival school like that... That would be like Frattin moving on to play for the Gophers after his incident last season.

brianvf
CHN live college hockey scoreboard - very nice! Wow, that is nice. Maine looks like it will be a good challenge for UND in a couple weeks, they are crushing UMass Lowell 6-1 in only the 2nd period. Tech is beating Northern, good to see. Lots of offense in the UMD/LSSU game. Three of UMD's four goals scored by their heavy hitters...I'm guessing that they will live and die by that line this year. brianvf
Our win over Alaska is looking good for PWR right now. This past weekend Alaska beat previously unbeaten Union and CC in the Brice Alaska Goal Rush tourney.
