fightingsioux4life Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 After we scored and kicked the extra point, I was so nervous about the kick-off I was almost hyperventilating! And to my horror, we gave up a long kick-off return. But then it was called back for holding and I was able to breathe easier again. What a rush! What a win! A moment over 100 years in the making. undchris Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Ahhhhhh Ed Schultz calling UND football games. Such a spaz! Anyone for him coming back and calling them again?? Quote
johnsowe Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 That was a awsome game, it too bad GVSU would have our number for the rest of the decade. Quote

wyomingsiouxfan Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 I was in high school in Rhame when the Sioux won that game. I was yelling so loud on the long catch and run to the one yard line and again on the touchdown that I literally lost my voice!! What an exciting game and to watch it again was so cool. Great game! siouxjoy Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 I was at that game! Easily my favorite Sioux sports memory. When Luke broke that first tackle, I went absolutely ballistic and I am pretty sure I jumped on the foot of guy next to me about 50 times. Good stuff. After the touchdown, somehow Al Pearson was able to get on the field--before the game ended--and stood on the players bench waving these little American flags we were given (it was just a couple months after 9/11). Even though the run was called back for holding, how about that tackle Peterka made on the kickoff return? I get goosebumps typing about it. Quote
GeauxSioux Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I finally got a chance to watch this. Wow! My heart started racing on the 4th and 4 play. I remember watching the game during a baby shower for our first child and thinking the game was over when Grand Valley went ahead with less than 3 minutes left. That has to be the greatest game in Sioux football history, especially the way the final minutes unfolded. Quote
