There's a good reason why it's "in". Their agenda appears to be to screw over all but the very wealthiest of us. What's up with that? Unless you're obnoxiously wealthy or obnoxiously religious there is no appeal whatsoever to the Republican party. Is anybody really surprised they've become the butt of so many jokes as of late? :D

I agree that this is the perception out there. I would say however, that Obama isn't poor. The current 2 party system does not allow for an ordinary "middle class" person to run, only the financial elite. Another example, all of these Hollywood actors that are endorsing Obama aren't living in the poorhouse either.

I agree that being a member of the Republican party is not what it once was. The party has moved too far to the left.

A couple of years ago, I heard someone with an analysis that hit the nail on the head. The Republicans of today are what the Democrats were 40-50 years ago and the Democrats of today are what Socialists were 40-50 years ago.

I lean more toward the Libertarian point of view on most issues, except for the drug thing. Get the government out of everyone's business.

Edit: With little choice at this time, I vote for the more conservative candidate.

It's definitely not Reagan's GOP, but I wouldn't claim that there is absolutely no appeal to the party. A lot of the appeal on November 4th will be to make sure that BHO will not be elected. I think that this should be the Republican parties new slogan; "On occasion luck will beat hard work, but, hard work will beat hope every time."

I don't think Obama's plan to do away with (so in fact, he is proposing a tax increase) the Bush tax cuts will help any of us that aren't obnoxiously wealthy. Also, cutting the corporate tax like McCain is proposing to do will help everyone from the obnoxiously rich all the way down to people like you and me who depend on jobs that the obnoxiously rich provide.

Edit: Oh yeah, Big Eddie is a Big D-bag.

Eddie was a Bison fan/supporter, then he was a Sioux fan/supporter. He was once a Republican, but is now a Democrat. No one is a bigger fan of Eddie than Eddie and no one has more self serving interests than Eddie. Eddie is all about Eddie all the time.

I remember when he was married to Maureen Schmidt. She was great, and he was still a tool.

Usually Eddie goes on these shows and it's the fact that he is an intellectual lightweight that results in him being made to look like a total d-bag. This time he apparently decided to beat them to the punch and make a total d-bag out of himself with very little help?

Bingo! :) There is no other "talking head" on any TV channel that is less/miss informed than Eddie. I can't stand Obermann, but he at least has somewhat of a clue as to what he is taliking about. :D

And the Democratic party is better? You've got to be kidding. Unless you are in a union or on welfare there is no appeal whatsoever to the Democratic party. Obama wants to raise corporate payroll tax. This would really hurt my company (<50 employees) which is currently being supported by the "obnoxiously wealthy" (I'm in a venture capital startup). Guess I'll have to vote for the better of two evils.

It's too bad the "obnoxiously wealthy" have nothing better to do than invest their money in business that actually creates real jobs.
