BigGreyAnt41 Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 How many of these offsides calls are because they're a little out of sync due to the smaller neutral zone? Quote
redwing77 Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 We're NOT playing well on the power play. Missing the net, hitting our own guys, and a TON of offsides. Oh well... The more this happens, the better UMD looks. Quote
brianvf Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Sounded like there were alot of Sioux fans there after that goal. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 End of the 1st. Sioux need to adjust to the smaller rink size to get more in sync. Should have at least one more goal with the amount of PP's we had. Let's come out strong in the 2nd frame! Quote
Sioux-cia Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 the 'dogs PK is either really great or we're not! Quote
Goon Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Look for UND to get a bunch of make up calls in the second Sandy just got done working the ref over. Quote
AZSIOUX Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 nice clean faceoff win by oshie right to genoway for the blast. nice to get 1 on the board late with all those pp's we didnt covert on Quote
Goon Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 the 'dogs PK is either really great or we're not! I think UMD is very good defensively as well as they have great goaltending as well. Quote
redwing77 Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 My Period 1 Wrap Up: 1. Great things happen when you throw the puck at the net. Genoway - living proof. 1-0 Sioux 2. UMD's PK was good. Carroll was a madman out there. 3. #2 notwithstanding, we had 4 PPs and maybe 2 chances on those power plays. I don't know how many shots we had, I do know that it took us 2 minutes to get our first shot on the PP. That's unacceptable. We're on the powerplay. We shoot the puck. Period. Even if we don't score, we should have minimum 2 SOG per 2 minute PP. 4. We HAVE to stop thinking that we can always rely upon Oshie and Duncan to score the goals. Yeah, they can score, but seriously, I love ugly goals because THEY COUNT JUST AS MUCH AS THE PRETTY ONES! I'm starting to see Genoway as my favorite Sioux player. Not because he's the best, but because he seems at times the ONLY SIoux player who isn't afraid to just shoot the f-ing puck. 2nd Period Keys: 1. Continue to stay out of the box 2. Maintain defensive strategy that worked in the first period. 3. SHOOOOOOOT! Stalock isn't a sieve. We've got to score any way we can. Quote
siouxforeverbaby Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 My keys to the second: 1. continue to try to stay out of the box 2. SHOOT THE PUCK 3. Don't worry about making it pretty just follow #2 4. Phil, stay in the net buddy, you are not a defenseman and you are not a forward. STAY IN THE NET! Quote
AZSIOUX Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 i will make my 1st period breakdown way more simple shoot and score and keep up the great D phil is fine out of the net, he has the green light to handle the puck and hes fine doing that all season. Quote

AZSIOUX Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 SHOOT THE FRIGGIN' PUCK!! oh is that what they are suppose to do? contact hak between periods and let him know that the boys will break it open in the 2nd. duluth blocked a number of shots, very aggresive overall and on the pk thats what intermissions are for, make adjustments and that they will do Quote
