  1. I agree on all 3, especially the last point.  The development of our bigs will be the biggest factor to our success this season.

As long as Jones doesn't force the issue of the bigs "needing" the ball.  The guard play will be phenomenal this year.  The game has been guard oriented for sometime, should be nice to watch these guys play together.  They will get the bigs the ball when necessary I believe, but I don't want to see it forced.  Keep the lane open for the little guys going to the hoop. Can't wait for the season to start.

  2. I think we can all agree as alumni, fans and supporters of UND this whole process has been nothing short of embarrassing and pathetic.  What I have witnessed by this committee as this process has moved along has been nothing short of ridiculous........no leadership, no sense of urgency, and no understanding of public perception.......and I could go on.  Please just get this over with.

Why can't the committee take the leadership role it needed to and take the candidates to 2-3.  They were given specific criteria that should have made this an easy process.  To put these final five names in the hands of a President that seems to have a favorite in mind, I think is a mistake.

Look at the criteria that the committee laid out for a new nickname.  Then look at the 5 names left.  It is fairly obvious that only one of the names  best fits that criteria.

I agree with this. RoughRiders may not be the best, but considering the others and the criteria  that was put forth, it fits the bill.  And of the five I think it is the best name by far.  This process continues to be an endeavor like no other.

  3. The word you have been looking for is dominant. Dominant. This is like Boondock Saints when the moron detective says symbology.

Thank you!  Beat me to it. May need to post definitions and usage to  explain to the Alumni tho.. As a whole they aren't too bright

  4. UND continue to recruit Iowa hard though not real surprising with the ties Jones and Horner have to the state.  Wonder how much of an effect Ahelegbe going to USD will have on Minnesota recruiting overall.

I think the TC/MN recrutiing is fine. You have a bunch of kids from the cities that are recruiting hard for UND. They know the talent down there and realize what UND could be if they get those kids to buy into building this program by staying close to home.

  5. A lot of staff's do that, not just NDSU.  But, pretty sure that UND has no bargaining power when it comes to this type of situation so I don't think they said anything like that.

Although, if they are recruiting another player at that position, it's likely that they told him there is only one scholarship for that position.  First one to commit gets it.

And I would argue that UND is in better position to get commits than they used to.  UND is seen here in the cities as a program that is building something. Has some talented kids that can "just ball."  (had to put that in there)

  6. That's just embarrassing.......yet "those" people make up a vast majority of the population in this country......and almost all of them have the right to vote. No wonder this country is in the current state it is in.

I couldn't have said it better myself.  There should be series of tests to verify you have the ability to think, have an understanding of our history, and then vote for what you think is right

  7. My plan is to become fabulously independently wealthy by winning the PowerBall.

My plan and the PowerBall haven't seen eye to eye yet, and probably never will.

When talking about Fullerton's plan and the Dakother 3, the answer to your question is probably very similar to my PowerBall plan (it's someone's plan, but will it happen).

This is GREAT Sic!  thanks for the laugh this am.

For the record, I play Meg-Millions too and havent cashed in on either of them yet.

I would like to know some of your actual thoughts on what the BSC plans are.  I think it is possible that they try to bring in the other three Dakota schools, it just makes sense.  I know the NCAA isnt done with all the moving around of conferences. The FCOA is going to really force changes.  I think if the BSC wants to be relevant, they are going to have to change and probably grow as well.

  8. Here's where the "abstract" forces unite and eliminate "just North Dakota" and Roughriders from consideration. I just can't picture a world where a white guy will meet the requirements for a logo as envisioned by this committee.

Well, white is a neutral color. Can we get the committee to see that?  I just dont see a good logo for Roughriders with every color under the rainbow represented.

  9. So what in your opinion what is the cause of this??......................the elephant in the room keeps getting bigger.

Hint..........the answer is not the Confederate flag

Could you please get this message across to the current people in charge. And all the others that need to know this.

  10. Walker wore 10; now he wears 2. Depending on how you look at it, he's wearing the same value. ;)

"There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't."

I wonder if he chose 10 for that reason (because he wanted value = 2); if he did, a tip of the cap to him! :D

    11 Cheers for Binary!!!

  11. I agree with your last sentence. The only problem?

The NCAA general assembly has since voted to give the NCAA executive committee vast and far reaching powers to rule (I won't even call it govern) in matters of this nature. Today's non-existent rules are tomorrow's executive committee arbitrary and capricious edicts.

This is where the concern should be.  They have the power now to do pretty much anything they want.  Don't like something, make a rule, and subsequent penalty to make sure they get the result they are looking for

  12. Definitely a 3-guard lineup.

As stated; Hooker, Crandall, Seales, Bernstine, Shanks

I could see McDermott and Collins getting playing time as well. They both bring skillsets needed on this team.  But, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them or even both redshirt.  I'll have better grasp of that after FanFest, if not sooner.

  13. The shooters mom:

"My son didn’t pull up at Wal-Mart and shoot people. No way. Sorry,” Ross said. “I don’t believe it. It doesn’t make sense. There has to be something to it, someone else involved.”

This isn't an uncommon reaction.  It is really hard for parents, especially mothers, to accept that their child could do something like this.  It is usually proven to the parents with proof, video in this case.  Hopefully, she will see all affected by this tragedy and be able to move out of denial and start the healing process.

Walmart's are heavily monitored with security cameras inside and out. Will GFPD be releasing that footage at some point?

Would they release that to general public there? I could see releasing photos leading up to incident, this is common.  Not knowing the graphic nature of the scene, hard to speculate on the release of video.  As stated above, I wouldn't be surprised if the PD offered to confirm with gunman's mother/father, and lawyer.
