  1. So apparently Giuseppe's is closed for good. http://www.grandforksherald.com/business/restaurants-and-bars/4461108-grand-forks-giuseppes-closed-good-after-dispute It's an unfortunate ending to that story, but I did get a kick out of this quote by Jeff Tellmann at the end: “Giuseppe's as it was ceased to exist on Jan. 3 of this year,” Tellmann said. “The Red Pepper is what we do. That’s where our bread is buttered and this was just kind of a side project.”
  2. From the NDUS annual report (http://www1.und.edu/finance-operations/_files/docs/ndus-2017-financial-report.pdf):
  3. Did anyone else notice that Rizzo's announcement tweet said #GoHawks? He's the first hockey recruit/player I can recall that used that rather than some variation of Sioux (as opposed to lots of football and basketball recruits/players using Hawks)
  4. I think part of the issue is that they both wanted a hawk logo to match and reflect the nickname and also a new "ND" logo to replace the interlocking ND. Rather than coming up with a primary Hawk logo and a secondary "ND" logo they combined them. As has been stated elsewhere, many schools have and use both their letter logo and their nickname/mascot logo. I was growing tired of having the interlocking ND mistaken for Notre Dame and would enjoy an updated and unique to us ND logo to use in addition to a hawk logo. Maybe if/when the hawk logo is revamped they can introduce a new ND logo as a secondary as well.
  5. I see you beat me to the punch! I'll delete mine.
  6. Those things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.
  7. I think the concern is that the funds would be used in other areas rather than pumped back into the Ralph.
  8. You're not wrong. I'm just wary, given the history of fiscal decision making at the school.
  9. However you feel about the Engelstad Foundation and REA, I for one am not optimistic about the University's willingness and ability to spend the money to keep the arena updated on a regular basis.
  10. It's funny how Kennedy spends most of the article refuting (or clarifying) her claims but then finds himself saying he "wouldn't suggest she's being dishonest." And this after McGarry is reminded that she's on the record after contradicting Kennedy's statements. Lots of he said she said but nobody wants to call the other party out for lying.
  11. Something something pot calling the kettle black.....
  12. It must have something to do with this "real flag" discussion from last week:
  13. "Don't miss your chance to see not one but two teams who were this close to making the 2018 NCAA tournament!"
  14. Agreed. Although I'd actually be a lot more likely to attend a UND-less Fargo regional than Sioux Falls.
  15. I had the same thing happen late Sat night when trying to register there. I was gonna ask about it here but didn't get around to it. I'm wondering if they are blocking based on geography or ISP and don't want UND fans on there. If so, that's pretty bush league.
  16. FYI for those wondering about will call and transferring tickets. REA will assist in the process.
  17. There are quite a few packages available on Stubhub for decent prices, mostl below face. That's where I sold mine (got just a shade over 50% of what I paid for them). The Champions Club members that bought tickets were able to pick them up at the Ralph, so those people have tickets in hand.
  18. And if i'm a St. Cloud fan this is forum is where i'd look first for tickets.
  19. Great point. Having more new blood in the season ticket holder population that actually attends games on a regular basis would be a positive.
  20. It seems likely this trend will continue. If they take away another section from the students as Schloss has mentioned as a possibility, that just creates even more supply for the non-student market. I'm curious to see what the combination of a softer market and an unsuccessful year will do to season ticket renewals/sales.
  21. Your point is well taken. I was in a position where we had a family event get scheduled for that weekend as well and we were gonna be pushing it going even if UND made it. The fact that they aren't playing there changed the calculus. I'm fully prepared to eat the cost of the tickets but figured i'd throw them out there in case another group of our fans wanted to go and have fun.
