  1. I do agree with that, we need to get a 3 and out. But this game is going fast.
  2. Wow we only had 1 possession in 1sr quarter. Hate that new rule.
  3. I don't like that they were able to plunge forward for 2 yards on that QB sneak when we knew it was coming. Got bailed out by penalty
  4. Wtf how are guys so wide open!
  5. 3rd and long still our cryptonite
  6. SIU up 7-0 against NIU about half way through 2nd quarter.
  7. Well designed, just dropped it
  8. I'm excited for another game to see how the team performs against a little step up in competition, and then an even bigger step up the following week.
  9. Expectations must be higher this year when everyone is arguing how big of a victory is acceptable against a team we had to rally to beat last year.....and MSU had to get a prayer answered in a wild bomb at the end of the game to win. Higher expectations is a good thing. I'm more interested in passing the eye test, or sniff test that another poster eluded to, than the exact margin of victory. Get it done on Saturday.
  10. Yes it's too early for that. It's Potato bowl at home....team and fans should be pumped. This is a must win game, if we lose this one we are in trouble. I'd like a two score comfortable win, but just win. I'll say 34-24.
  11. I agree. There will be trick plays in the future that don't work, and people will say Danny is being too cute. Heck the play yesterday was kind of close to being blown up, but it went for a TD. We've had MANY trick plays that went for TD's or big yardage. I'm a little guilty of it myself sometime.....when a trick plays goes bad...and think wtf was that. But in the big scheme of things Danny has been successful with them, and Defenses definitely have a lot to think about when playing us.
  12. Yeah hopefully not. Hunt with an honorable mention, he looks to be a good pick up and can scoot!
  13. Did we win?
  14. Dennis is in a boot.
  15. Bo knows football!!!
  16. TE U
  17. It was 10 yards wide right.... horrible. Not sure if I've ever seen a kick that close missed by that far before.....woof
  18. Gave up yards on that first drive....was having flashbacks of opening drive TD's. At least we held this time.
  19. Prediction...... Ziebarth has a breakout game
  20. I agree with you there, we do absolutely need more big wins against top programs. And we need to stop having poor losses as well, and be more consistent overall. We need a deep playoff run and start doing it year after year. The goal is for us to get to the point where if we beat a top team, it's not a surprise or an upset. This goon probably agrees with you more than you think.
  21. Schlossman states "If UND does not pull an upset in any of those (Boise St., SDSU, NDSU) a seed is likely out of the picture" Well call me a goon then because that is the same thing I said lol. I said we need to beat NDSU which is one of the three he said we need to beat. Running the table to stay at only 2 losses the rest of the year doesn't give us much wiggle room I agree with you there. I just think we still have a chance and all is not lost if we start 4-2, but then again I am just a Goon after all. Going to crack a beer to get ready for Metallica tonight...and UND football tomorrow....and long weekend...great time of year!
  22. Actually that article highlights what most of the rest of us said, we can't go 3-3 (losing to Boise St., SDSU, NDSU) or we are in trouble. You've consistently said if we start 2-2 we are in trouble. Huge difference between 2-2 and 3-3 and I'm not going to get into a pissing match about the reasons. NDSU is a must win game IMO, even if we beat Boise St. or SDSU, we need to beat NDSU this year. This comment doesn't mean I have low expectations and don't want to beat Boise St. or SDSU, just clarifying that this article highlights what most of us have been saying. I'm hoping it's a fun 2023 season too.....Go Hawks!
  23. I think them graduating two OL that made NFL rosters, one who will be starting....will be a bigger loss than Luepke. In the past many have predicted their demise a couple of times, I never did because I know they always rebuild. This is the first time though, it seems a little different due to many factors. They realistically could lose 3 games this year, but they very well could run the table. I'm definitely not counting them out, but this has to be our year to beat them. While it's always nice to see them lose, if they do end up beating EWU soundly, that is another feather in MVFC hat over Big Sky which is important come playoff time. I know EWU was down last year, but they will likely be a little better this year and may end up getting a win over one or two of the top 6 Big Sky teams. Plus I'd like NDSU's first loss this year to be to us.
