For me......its that the last extension he gave Bubba was ridiculous.

I'm so done with Bubba at this point. There were times when I defended him in the past. Can't do it anymore.

I was thinking Bubba's contract went through 2025 so he'd be done at end of 2025 season not 2024? Yeah next year feels like it will be a lost year, I just hope it's not two more of this mediocre Bubba performances. An even more frustrating than normal type year next I think actually. Not sure we keep it within 20 of NDSU in Fargo this fall. I'm sure I'll be watching and muster up some excitement for the season come August. But like death and taxes.....there will be guaranteed frustration and heartache for UND football under Bubba.

You would think being named Associate HC and likely to be the next head coach....and hopefully soon...he wouldn't jump ship. Although him getting OC at SDSU if they keep chugging along the next few years and he is successful there.....when their young HC ends up moving up to FBS....which is a high likelihood of......Danny could likely move up with him to FBS coordinator. That potential opportunity might be too hard to turn down. If he does go.....and takes Jerry....that would be pretty devastating in my opinion. It would definitely mean a complete reboot. Which in the long run could be better....hard to say. UND scored more points than any other FCS team did against SDSU last year, except Illinois State which also scored 21 but played them at home. Reason for them to possibly consider Danny.

I guess the only thing I can think of would be Danny. As much as Danny had a few not so good games, I still think he is a good OC. Our offense next year is the only thing that gives me a glimmer of hope for next year. With a hopefully more dynamic QB who can run a bit more and better deep ball.....I am curious to see how they progress next year. Other guy could think of is our OL coach? Seems like it has to be someone from our staff if it will be unfortunate for us.

I'll never forget when he came in against Sam Houston when he was a true freshman. It was early in the year and he was 4th string but when the first two went down they gave him the nod. Being a true freshman with limited practice snaps under his belt he came in and was cool as a cucumber and helped lead us to victory. Will be interesting to see how he does at MSU and I'll be rooting for him. He may only be a backup but if he does need to come in you know damn well he will be cool and collected.

Prior to this season I think the portal has been a net positive when looking at what we lost to what came in. We brought in Hoosman....and Elioder was an all conference guy while at South Dakota I believe. Some other decent guys as well. All FCS schools are going to lose some guys, heck even NDSU lost a lot of them the one off season. There is a lot of competition for good players, it's not as easy as saying hey we need 2 top notch OL and DL through the portal and Bingo you get them. Although we did bring in a couple nice DL through portal last year. This year hasn't been great so far though totally agree. Defense needs a lot of help. The coaches have a lot of work ahead of them. It's certainly easier for a school like SDSU coming off their first championship coming into this year when the players know you are like going to win another one. Pretty good incentive to stay put for most players. Winning playoff games and being relevant is probably one of the biggest things. After beating NDSU it felt like we were finally heading that way.....but obviously fell flat. Highly doubtful Bubba can take us any further than we've gotten. I do agree that next year kind of feels like it will be a lost season.

If only the Michigan State head coach had ridden his bike by practice a couple of times this year.....he woulda known better....

We could probably use some of these hits and misses, oh yeah....we are so good we don't need him. Makes it more frustrating that it's a ND kid IMO.

Pretty incredible 10 year run up the ranks for him. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have brought in Rudy as his OC if he was hired as UND HC . Good luck to him in the Championship game.

Saw him on the sidelines towards the end right next to Deboer before the on side kick. Special teams blunder at the end though too, 15 yard penalty.

Martens looks like he has some speed.

Finally some good news! We need a few more pieces for the puzzle but good to see some positive news.

Agree with that, and I think most fan bases are that way. We liked Schmidt at first but the last year or two some were questioning him and look at where he ended up. You guys were even winning Championships non stop and fans would still complain about the OC. Have seen many complaints about Roehl. Everyone always wants the perfect game.....every game.

Looks like they pulled Davis after he got to 100 yards. Gronowski getting injured is about the only way they don't win it all again. Foolish having him in there if you ask me. They just scored again though so now they will surely pull him. Guess they all wanted more stats.

Why would they still have Gronowski and starters in....in the 4th quarter when you 42-0

Dang, I will miss him on there. Sure Kelly maybe couldn't always say what he wanted too, but I always liked Shannon on the show and the History he brought with his quizzes etc..

Rudy certainly would do much better with the current team and he current OL, but I'd still take Danny easily. If we don't open it up more though next year with a different QB my mind might change. Also ai think it will be important for both Trey and Feeney to be ready.....so that we aren't afraid to call some QB runs.... because we know we have another guy totally capable of coming in and running the offense. The major story line I think all off-season will be who is going to win the starting job....and who we bring in and how much improvement do wee see on the DL and OLB spots.

There have been some head scratchers on offense a few times for sure this year, and as I mentioned earlier in one post Danny's shine has dimmed some and I was flat out pissed at the offense a few times this year. Next year with a bigger arm and more mobile QB in Feeney or Jerry we will see what he can do. If the offense is still run the same way with either of those two under center....a change may be needed.

The one positive we have is ......at least we are consistent
