Is Orlando coming back next year? If so does he drop a couple pounds so he can be a bit more agile? Was listed at 285 on the 2024 roster. 285 isnt that big though so they'dprobablywant him to stay at that weight if he came back? . I counted 13 on 2024 roster not including Beach or Orlando. Then 2 DL incoming through portal so far. Although not 100 percent sure if any of the 13 i counted have entered the portal and left.

Yep, UND has to turn it around and quickly and start getting in the mix and take part it knocking NDSU down a peg. Currently SDSU is the only other FCS contender to the throne, and their team and staff just got gutted. In the next 10 years I'd be surprised if anyone outside of the Dakotas or Montana wins it. One advantage the rest of us Dakotas have is we get to play NDSU each year, as the 360 guys have mentioned a few times. I think if MSU had played NDSU annually for the past 4 years they would have had a better chance to win tonight and would have started out stronger in today's game as they would be more familiar with them. You can watch all the game film you want but until you go up against it you really don't know. We may not be deep playoff contenders right away next year(although I tbink we have a cjsnce to surprise) but we can do our part by upsetting them in Grand Forks next year to try and help get NDSU pushed out of the top two seeds. I would love if someone outside of the Dakotas and Montana stepped up their game. It was better and felt less watered down when JMU etc. were FCS. Although even then it typically seemed like it was really ever only a two or three horse race. We need to be one or those horses going forward.

I think Montana State can make it interesting but I'm thinking 7-10 point NDSU victory. My god I hope this is the last time for a while. SDSU getting gutted will only make it easier though for NDSU next year, unfortunately.

Looks like a lot of the people commenting clips are from like 15 years ago, I think. Not saying Notre Dame isn’t over rated in general at times though. Although I don't think they are necessarily over rated this year. They belong in the playoffs.

A little bit of 'fun hate' I guess I'll call it is good in my opinion. I love hating NDSU, Montana and some other schools. I had no problem when Cam said he hated SDSU. It was nice to see an NDSU player say they hated another team, because that means that other team has kicked their ass a few times. Until a few years ago NDSU players and fans probably really never felt that hate feeling because they were always winning. I'm hoping we can start beating NDSU again so they can start having that same feeling about UND, that is when the rivalry will be fully back. Although as far as Notre Dame, I am a fan. Guess all of those ND games on NBC Saturday got me used to watching and rooting for them. Plus I like the tradition, and they have the same school song as Dickinson where I get up.

But the appeal wasn't successful though right, and so it remained targeting on ASU.

In person these Penn State guys are Way bigger than Boise. I'd say the disparity is similar to when I watched UND play Boise St. We are way closer in size to NDSU and SDSU than Boise St. is to Penn State. I don't think it comes across on TV but is Boise is tiny compared to these guys. Hanging in there though!

My neighbors have a cabin by Boise and I went to the UND game with them at Boise last year. Going to the game with then on Tuesday, hoping they can pull off the upset like they did against Oklahoma in that classic bowl game. Go Broncos! Still baffles me how we kept a guy like Jeanty in check last year.

Well Fruechte was the OC last year and it didn't change from whhat it was before. We'll see if Eric suggests to get them involved more.
-
So that means our entire starting OL is back next year right? Hopefully the younger guys will be even better after a full years worth of experience.

If he is guaranteed to get a million or more in NIL I'd probably do that if I was him. Will he actually make an NFL roster when it comes down to it?
-
Normally I would agree with this. But after seeing Bubba sleeping in team meetings, I really can't blame any player or coach for leaving to go to a program that had the focus and leadership to win a championship. It was 100 percent clear the previous staff didn't have that and it was on full display the entire second half of the season. I would be hard to give my all to a staff I didn't feel was capable.
-
In that case I hope he goes somewhere and gets some money. Seems like a quality young man.

Wow football has just gotten extra crazy now that everyone has NIL's going and stuff. SDSU coach leaves after two years, if he takes some of their best players....SDSU could be looking at a rebuilding year next year with a new coach. Either way I'm glad Bubba stepped down and we've got Schmidt who has already proven to be better in the portal in a short period of time. Times have changes quickly in the past five years and I finally think we have the coach and the facilities to not be left in the dust amidst all of this change, but hopefully we can capitalize on it.

I don't see how this could be true Regarding Gronowski. Pretty sure he is all out of eligibility as he was same class as Schuster I believe.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Danny.

No doubt, was so damn tired being the laughing stalk of the FCS Fans Nation on FB, and just not having any respect in general from so many other fan bases.

I am the one who started this I guess as I said this board would be salivating if we got a transfer QB from USC. I wasn't saying the dude was a fure sure top notch guy, my point was more that other FCS schools would be getting drop downs from big name schools, meanwhile in the past we were bringing in D2 guys. Schmidt is obviously changing that already. But a month ago if we found out we were getting a QB transfer from USC, you are crazy if you don't think this board would have been excited as hell about that. Doesn't mean he would have ended up being our savior, but we would have been excited. I mean what is the biggest recent transfer we've been excited about lately.....maybe Eilioder from USD? Not opposed to bringing in the right D2 guys at times, there can be some gems. The Winona State guy could be good. Nice to see such a huge change in momentum for UND football the past few weeks. Makes the Bison winning another title in January slightly.....slightly easier to bare.

Eric Schmidt named head coach of North Dakota football

Is there running QB gonna take over next year, or do they have someone else that is going to step up? Miller will be big shoes to fill, but they've been filling big shoes at the QB position for over 10 years. -
Hudl says 4.4 also.

Eric Schmidt named head coach of North Dakota football

I agree, how cheap would that make us seem if we had the head coach be the DC. Didn't we have to wait 30 days for the announcement for Bubba to be hired. Schmidt was hired in what 10 days, many assistants are in place. Would rather Schmidt get the right guys than worry about how quickly they are hired. I'm confident it will all come together. -
We would be salivating if we ever got a transfer like this. Hopefully with the new staff we can get some higher end potential portal transfers.
-
Would think that we might see more movement both in and out, portal wise, for UND in the spring. Maybe after new DC and staff are hired and get to see guys in spting practice and try and make some decisions as who they see has a future at UND in seeing the field, and who does not.
