Always thought while having a great year, USD was a bit over rated this year and not the 3rd best team in the FCS. Heck we should have beat them if we kept it on the ground.

This is embarrassing for USD wow.

Watching SDSU getting pressure and a sack with just 4 on 3rd and long today.....just shows how bad we were at getting to the QB. We couldn't get there with 5....or sometimes 6.

NDSU will likely shut up those Montana fans next week.

I was gonna say SU by 10-15 before the game started...but ouch! I don't normally be on many games but was gonna put a little money on it, but if SU won by 6 I woulda been out money and SU wins and would have been a double loss, but dang obviously should have!

Jacks just got a QB sack rushing 4 on a 3rd and long. Makes a huge difference if you can get some pressure while dropping 7 into coverage on 3rd and long.

So if Furman and NDSU play, home team is based upon previously submitted bids? If so NDSU is at home again.... unbelievable.

Until I see some good defensive portal transfers, I'd definitely say that is high. If we can't get to the QB again next year it's going to be hard to take a step forward.

Haven't been on the site for about 10-11 days as was getting ready for a trip to NYC. This is the first thread I'm catching up on. After I saw the McNaboe one I was like oh crap.....and I still had 12 pages to read. Thankfully the last 8 pages was all just back and forth banter. All in all unless someone else major enters....we hopefully survived a portal run. Now hopefully we can add some guys and end up being on the positive side. I think the last few years the portal has been a net positive for UND football, hoping that ends up being the case again this year. We obviously won't transfer in an OL as good as Kilty but as many have said can't blame him for leaving. At least the OL has some depth and talent to build on. 10 years into being a HC and now Bubba is going to have some fire? Hard to think too much will change, but since he is going to be here at least another year hopefully something does. Am looking forward to a potentially much better deep ball passing game next year and having a QB where we can call 5-6 designed runs a game next year and him actually be a threat on the ground.

I agree, unless someone really amazing in the portal pops up and chooses us, let's get Feeney and Jerry going. Would rather we consistently recruit good QB's out of HS than be a school who has a track record of hitting the portal every year for a QB. Would think that could hinder future HS QB recruiting.

Other factors to consider in USD's big turnaround were that that had a killer schedule last year and I think they started out like 1-5 or something. They also didn't start starting Bauman until like the last 3-4 games of the season and the already appeared to be better with him in there, and he was a freshman. So with him getting some experience and being back.... they were set up pretty well to have a decent turnaround this year IMO. I wouldn't have guessed 9-2 though.

When is the last time we threw a quick slant inside. Not a full straight across crossing pattern but a quick slant. We see teams do those all of the time against us with success. We have probably done some I'm sure, but it just seems like our passing scheme could be improved quite a bit. Maybe it will with Trey or Jerry.

After hearing Wes pull all of his UND posts and put back up USD stuff, I had a feeling this might be the roughest transfer portal season for us. Seeing Kilty was a gut punch initially, but given his situation and having a degree I think he likely would have transferred even if we made it to the Championship game. Great opportunity for him. I think top FCS lineman will always get plenty of offers in the portal, might be hard keeping the really good ones in the future. We all know it starts up front and what FBS team isn't going to want to add a solid fit on the OL. Glad Bo is staying, him returning was nice to see just to have him back, but also to show others on the team that it's worth sticking around. That said he gets 50 percent of the passes thrown his way, which is both good and bad. He won't get that many passes thrown his way almost no matter where he goes. I will be on pins and needles every time I see a new post come on on this thread, I think there will be a few other semi big names that hit the portal.

As I said Sioux Boy.... hadn't looked at the schedule yet. Unusual 12 game schedule next year .....so let's make that 7-5.

I haven't looked at our 2024 schedule recently but I'll go with a 7-4 record.

I realize Bubba won't be getting bought out. But I'd sure be in favor of him stepping down. If Danny takes over ...he is not the OC then.....so we would get a change there too. Feeney or Jerry at QB that are more Dynamic, Z and Bo and some others back, like most of the OL. We need a leader who can inspire as a head coach, Bubba is a great guy but he just doesn't have the 'it' factor.

At this point who cares. Do you want to be sitting here in another 10 years going 7-5 for the 15th straight time? I use to be with you...and didn't want to have a major shift but I'm so sick of this. I have literally zero hope for doing anything next year at this point. At least if we start over you have hope that something better may be coming. News flash, Bubba isn't going to ever take a team on a playoff run. The guy is like 2-20 on the road. Remember the last program Bubba walked away from as head coach, oh ya.....they won a National Championship with those same players the next year.
