But but but....it's only Romfo's 5th start. We need to excuse everything we see with our eyes and just get him some more reps
-
He's not to blame. But hard to say Romfo is a above average FCS QB. You ok have 60 better FCS QB's than our starting QB?
-
I was pretty sure our offense was smoke and mirrors.....I think that is the case. Without big passes plays we are average.
-
Although overall I'd say our defense is average in FCS, not below average. But average defense with the worst passing QB UND has had in 35 years....
-
If he doesn't complete a pass on 2nd half there will be no Jerry except mop up time when we are down by 25
-
There will be no Jerry Time year unless Romfo gets injured. Who knows if we will even see Jerry next year.
-
Remember this we week i said we can't miss a sacks that turns into a TD. We just did.
-
Recent history NDSU wpuld score here.can we hold them?
-
That's the type of play you have to jsve in a game like this. That is the type of catch NDSU always makes.
-
And they already scored more on us than Iowa St.
-
5th time this year we've kicked out of bounds. 1 per game.
-
Radio announcer said there was ineligible man down field on that TD. TE ran down field illegally
-
Although we can't run today
-
The seems to wait and set that up with the run.
-
One of thr most important defensive series of the year coming up. Need a stop
-
ESPN plus and Midco are blocked in Mexico.....F me. At least that big sky network thing we had in 2015 worked in Mexico back then, was one good thing about it. Will have to listen on radio. LFG Hawks!!
-
Fruechte has been very good adjusting to.... and taking advantage of what the defense is giving us. Hopefully he will be on from the start and it won't take a quarter or so to adjust.
-
Exactly. My thoughts earlier in the week were another WR needs to make big plays this week. NDSU is well coached, we run the ball and we throw to Bo, that is what they will focus on. Not that Bo won't get 4-5 receptions yet anyway though. Bo will still be Bo.

Talked to a guy at the swim up bar this morning from Iowa St. who was at the UND game, he was very complimentary of our team. Since we played them tough he said he has watched our scores the last few weeks. He actually even complemented our QB. He also of course asked about Bo and said how good he was. He said it was pretty hot that day, nice to know we played in that heat and our team never looked gased.
-
I think it may end up being a similar story to the last couple of games, they load the box to stop the run. It's going to come down to if we are able to hit those big passes plays once again.
-
My early feeling is we have a team that is capable of winning, but at home I think their offense makes a few more plays and we can't quite keep up. That said though this game is huge for us and our team seems more confident this year...hoping they come through big on Saturday. Poor timing on a trip as I'm heading to Cabo Thursday....so will be watching from the beach on my phone. We beat a ranked Portland State team on the road back in 2015 or 16 and watched that one from beach in Cancun.... hoping for similar results Saturday!

I would agree a lot of it will be on the defense. Our offense has honestly been so bizarre.....we complete like 8 passes but they go for 250 yards. I can't tell if it's smoke and mirrors yet or not. If we don't hit on those big passes our offensive numbers almost drop in half. Those big passes have worked........because everyone since Montana is stacking the box. Will those big passes still hit against a better defense, I hope so. I am hoping we still have some success on the ground even if they do stack the box. Last year they didn't adjust to stop the run so we kept running it down their throats. I think this year they will come out and primarily try and stop the run and force us to continue to execute those long passes.
