  1. I haven't watched them but any team that gives up 3 shorthanded goals on the same major penalty has to be playing brutally. I also think I saw that they split up that top line that wrecked us on the Friday at the Ralph.
  2. Ohio State seems to be their kryptonite this year. Michigan hasn't held them to fewer than 5 goals in a game yet. Ohio State also stole a game from BC, granted they were missing White. I agree it is very unlikely that either Wisconsin or Michigan State win the Big 10 but it is more likely than a bottom team taking the NCHC tournament. And my response was to someone saying I was using a tired cliche of anyone can beat anyone in a conference. Michigan and Minnesota have both shown they are capable of losing to anyone.
  3. RPI says Minnesota is better. KRACH says Minnesota is a lot better. Minnesota has a better record in the Big 10 than Robert Morris has in Atlantic Hockey. Robert Morris lost to AIC this year. AIC finished behind Arizona State. Put Kloos, Fasching, and Bristedt in Atlantic Hockey and they would put up Johnny Gaudreau numbers. As GFG says, if you think RobMo is better than Minnesota, you are lying to yourself.
  4. In the live chat on Saturday they said Ausmus blocked a shot on the inside of his skate and had a tough time getting off of the ice.
  5. CC had about a 3 week stretch in January where they looked like they were improving and then went right back to what they have been for the last 2 years. Should never overlook an opponent, and I'm sure the boys aren't, but I don't see how CC takes a game from us this weekend. We are a lot better than them.
  6. Minnesota has a good offense and average goal prevention. Michigan has a great offense with a terrible defense. I favor Minnesota because I think the difference between Minnesota's offense and Michigan's offense is less than the difference between Minnesota's goal prevention and Michigan's. They've gone 2-2 against each other this season, so previous games make it looks like a pick-em. Michigan has won their matchups by more. However, they come out flat more frequently than Minnesota and that is saying something because Minnesota tends to come out flat. Minnesota will also have much more to play for in the Big 10 championship than Michigan. For all of these reasons I would favor Minnesota in a Big 10 championship over Michigan.
  7. I just don't trust a team with as bad a defense as Michigan. If I were a betting man I would take the winner of the 1 vs 4 matchup to beat Michigan. If the Goofs and Michigan meet in their final I'd be willing to put some money on it.
  8. BS. It is realistic that Wisconsin could win the big ten. CC and WMU will not win the NCHC. Penn State only has a good record because they play all of their games against the two worst conferences. Ohio State is probably better than them. Minnesota split with Michigan this year. And you bring up Minnesota's defense and then act like Michigan is undoubtedly the best team in the Big 10. Minnesota actually has the best defense in the Big 10. Michigan has a terrible defense with a bad goalie. Wisconsin fans describe their defense as the worst group of defensemen that Wisconsin has ever had. Ohio State has given up 5 or more goals 10 times this year. Minnesota is going to win the Big 10 regular season for a reason. That reason may be that they are the best team in a group of bad teams, but it is still a reason.
  9. Michigan was just swept by a bad Ohio State. Penn State just lost to an absolutely awful Wisconsin team (I know we lost to them, but they are awful). All of the teams in the Big 10 suck and any of them can win their conference tournament.
  10. They may flip Michigan with Denver to get Michigan in Cinci for "attendance" purposes. They may even flip those entire matchups. They've shown in the past that the $ is more important than bracket integrity. UND, Denver, Lowell, and Minnesota would still be the region of death
  11. Duluth will need to sweep Miami. They are closer to #21 Robert Morris than they are to #12 Lowell. All those teams on the bubble are extremely close to each other and one loss will really hurt. Every team just behind them would need to be swept if UMD drops one game. I played around on CHN and if everything goes their way next weekend they could be #12 in the Pairwise. If all of the teams around them sweep, then Duluth could be in 14th even with a sweep of Miami. Once they are in Minneapolis, a 3rd or 2nd place finish could get them in but they may need to win it all to get in.
  12. Judging a high school kid's character based on a low point in a high emotion setting is not a strong quality.
  13. Thanks. That's what I thought, but couldn't remember for sure.
  14. They re-seed after the quarters correct?
  15. Poking fun at the Gophers is fun and all, but is it worth doing it at the expense of a high schooler? Are we really going to judge a 17 year old for holding his 2nd place medal and being disappointed after losing the most important game in his life up to that point? I'm sure he will never see this but come on. It's a high emotion situation and you never know how you are going to react until you are in it. I know I handled finishing 2nd in state my senior year very poorly, much worse than my junior year. I'm sure that was one of the most miserable times of his life. I know it was for me. I can't speak for him, but I'm sure glad I don't have any adults questioning my character on the internet for the way I reacted as a heartbroken teenager.
  16. And Boeser's 35 points is the most in conference play in the 3 years of the NCHC and that includes the playoffs for the first 2 years.
  17. And Nick finishes 3rd in points per game in the conference. Drake at 8th in points per game.
  18. That would be the best save percentage in the Big 10
  19. I have a feeling that Drake will pot one tonight. CBS has another great night and lock up the conference scoring title for Boeser.
  20. The five youngest teams in college hockey this year are BC, BU, Michigan, UND, and Notre Dame. Going out to the top 10 youngest and you add in Minnesota, Omaha, and Harvard. I think those are some pretty decent teams. And last year BU went from terrible to the national championship game on the back of a player that came in at 17. The teams like BU, BC, UND, Michigan and Minnesota are consistently on the younger end of the spectrum and are nearly always great. The Little 6 has absolutely no clue what they are talking about and are trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist.
  21. and because the Goofs are going to win it for the second time in a row despite being the worst team in the state.
  22. Totally let up in the 3rd period. Can't win #8 if we are going to take it easy for a full period. Pretty pathetic period. /sarcasm
  23. Yes. Jim Dahl at collegehockeyranked.com had the projection at around 60-70% chance of being in 1st after this weekend.
