Molberg played poorly through the toughest part of the schedule. Bartels would of stunk against Portland just as bad as Molberg. the protection was so poor all season that it was hard to get a good grasp of true talent. protection will be an emphasis in the off season. Hope, but there is no guarantee that it will be that much better. it will be interesting to see how it shakes out. there was so much hype on this board last year about the "epic battle" abd great receiving corpse last year. I would love to see some one just humbly work their butt off, learn and understand the offense, and win the job.......no matter who it is!

jmho but I tend to agree with.you. the class looks good taking into account that we all saw a big departure at the end of last year and didn't know what to expect from this class. I am exited at the numbers and the quality it sure could have been worse?

It seems that tall, pro-style qb;s with big arms are everyones dream. how may did we face in the thrashings we took this year? game managing, smart qb's are what we need. if they happen to be tall with huge arns....great. but not the first prerequisite.

I am speaking in generalities here so nobody take this too personal. I am much less interested in "arm strength" than I am in a game managing qb that can make 95% of the throws and have a solid grasp on decision making.. Molberg has a huge arm and arguably the best receiving corps in fcs but lacked accuracy and game savy, imho. obviously we would take the best of both worlds but those kids don't land on our laps very often.

it will be interesting to see how well the new coaching staff can retain their scholared recruits. there at least seems to be a more committed mentality at getting more local kids. if you take a look at the whole picture, it seems one could field as good of a team if we have a higher percentage of kids that will give us five yeas and commit to our program vs. az, ca, fla kids that take a couple of years worth of our scholarship funds then decide, for whatever reason, that und is not for them. jmho.

any of these kids that und has devoted time and scholarship money to come play is some what of a loss. it surely isn't a gain? these money's could have gone to Midwest kids with a higher probability of sticking with our program. Muss's strategy was clearly misguided, factoring in his leadership abilities and the fact that kids have had a tough time buying into our program

lets not get the cart ahead of the horse here. I agree It might be fun to dream of a potential. turn around of circumstances. BUT, we need to humbly build Sioux football from the ground up. what happens to NDSU shouldn't matter.

Hoffner is a discipline guy, he will have something to prove. just the type of no-nonsense attitude und needs. he will poor he his heart and soul into the first job he gots, off of a tough ordeal. I know Todd personally. I hope he applies and gets the job.

kids are different these days. this isn't a Hoosiers movie. we can be mad all we want. mad with no players is no way to go thru life as a football program. I will apologize upfront if I amewrong but given the circumstances, I think the administration has done a crappy job keeping the players informed and educated. a few lousy emails doesn't keep these kids close. I have heard from a player there has been little organized contact.

I gotta bad feeling its gonna be a jail break of departures in fr, rsfr classes. Liow moral, many biutt kicking during seaon, not allowed on sidelines during game, no coach/discipline, home sick, weather, young enuf to start over closer to home, etc, etc, etc, I am old school. But the kids these days are different. Can't say stick it out for und pride. Just wont work with these kids/environment. Jmho
