Stated that on an earllier post. qb potential is a reason why we needed to do our best to keep golliday close. If we did and he leaves anyway, so be it. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out other schools would be after him. Right or wrong, Kenny probably aspires to play on Sundays. WE can rationalize all WE want. What matters to Kenny is what KENNY's thinking. I hate to say it but go go is probably gone gone

Does golliday still have a red shirt year to burn or do you have to use it as a freshman

Freund is good enuf to stay as QB coach. Give him the job and direct him to have some team moral meetings so we don't send all the kids home for Christmas unsure of their future.

it doesn't matter what WE think. it matters what GoGo thinks. I merely stated that we should be proactively keeping him close and listed a few potential reasons why, that's all.

All I said is he is a pinnacle talent that other schools might find an opportunity to pursue. We already lost Jackson.

Go go is one that other schools would be pining for. With the SUb par QB performances this year and uncertain future, I would keep a close eye on our relationship with him

he went from having a break out, all American type performance last year to an unproductive(compared to last year) season this season. some of these kids get famous quick and don't know how to handle it. then have a year like this year. I would guess he wants to play next year vs sit out a year if he goes to D1, or FCS. might be a stepping stone for him. he is quite talented.

first winter storm just hit us. weather/climate could be a consideration as well for kids not used to it?

why would kids from CA, AZ and elsewhere automatically "buy in" to our program. they didn't grow up watching Sioux sports. their parents didn't go to school here. they were recruited from all over the country to play football for a scholarship. you will get kids to "buy in" after they spend a couple of years here and have a vested interest in the school and team. with the way things went this year, I would be surprised that a lot of the young players haven't "bought in" to the cool ade we are serving up. most will stay, some will defect. . each athlete is following his own personal dream to be a college athlete. it is the reasonability of the AD staff and coaches to recruit and build reasons why these kids should want to stay if we have the attitude to show anyone who isn't "bought in" yet the door, we should be careful for what we ask for. jmho ps local kids will buy in much quicker and be much more loyal than kids from out of the area

what I heard about Jackson is he missed a practice in fall camp, just went home I think. it was at the time when Golliday and Hardin were getting all of the pre-season press. who knows what happened? I hope a new coach will be more in-tuned with what/how these kids need to be motivated, and monitored. every kid will have a different need.

I have a bad feeling as well. Jackson is a good example of a marquis player who had a good year the previous year, then struggled this year with our passing game. I hope someone is keeping the rest of the flock calm. i.e. Golliday etc.

if any of the players are upset, I would guess it would be because the had secured starting position and now will have to prove to the new regime that they are worthy. healthy competition will make for renewed enthusiasm. for every kid that is worried about losing his starting spot, there are two kids exited to get a fresh chance. jmho ex. I bet sparks isn't one who is sad that muss left.

I think every team that blew us out this year had 6' or 6'1" QB. They must know something we don't.

I tend to agree with this statement. I think there a few guys that are just completely natural "gamers" i.e. - kuksa. then there ate the rest of the athletes who need to be motivated and kept from distractions(school, girls, parties, etc.) that is what I think everyone is trying to say about muss. you can do all the woulda,, coulda, shoulda's you want and statistical analysis on how long it takes to develop programs etc. etc. muss just have mental make-up to be a natural born leader. jmho
