UND is in the midst of what looks like a very good recruiting class at this point. NDSU isn't the best college football team in the country. On a high school recruits list, NDSU ranks about 120th, behind the FBS schools. We can and do compete with that, especially with kids who consider academics and a higher moral standard.

SHSU is outplaying the bison, but getting screwed by the refs. Two holds that shouldn't have been called and negated big runs; two missed PIs that would have resulted in great scoring opportunities.

This kid should be an exciting player! Looks like we are picking up some kids with a lot of potential again this year.

let's not forget that without the blown call at the end of the UNC game, we likely end the season in 5th place in the big sky, behind 4 teams that were playoff caliber. The defense came up with stops at Sac St, Montana, SUU, and UNC, but needs to improve and will almost certainly be better next year. I think there is a lot to be hopeful about over the next few years; definitely NOT a bleak future for UND football.

If we we want to get to the point where we can shoot for a BSC championship, we need to pick up 4-6 players each year that can flat out play. We didn't do this during the transition, but it looks like we might have achieved that last year with Goliday, Edwards, one of the quarterbacks, Labat, Rich, maybe another WR. Do we look like we are on track to do that again this year?

While several of your points are true, the season wasn't an epic failure. This team came close to saying their only losses were to ranked teams. They handled Sac State. They beat Montana when Montana was in a must win situation. They came very close to beating a good FBS team. They had good chances to beat to Cal Poly and NAU late in the game. I don't have a lot of confidence in Mussman after today and have to really question whether he is the right guy for the job. I would like to see some leadership with more intensity. But to say the season was an epic failure is way off base and doesn't give credit where credit is due.

I just can't believe that I saw such absolutely poor play calling at this level of football. What a disappointment.

The last two play calls of that came were both individually the worst and second worst calls in the history of UND football. What in the world?

I hope we can pull this one off today. With a win, I think it would be tough for anyone to say this program isn't headed in the right direction. There is definitely room for improvement, but also a lot of room for optimism and hope.

If SDSU doesn't put 12 men on the field when FU is going to kick a late field goal they could very well have won that game. Frustrating. The later personal foul that kept the FU drive alive late in the game also didn't help them out. They had there chances. It will be interesting to see how the MVFC competes with the BSC teams in the playoffs. Doesn't seem like there is a lot of offense in the MVFC, but maybe that is due to good defenses...

They can't take anything for granted in this game. Should be fun to watch, and I expect it will go down to the wire. I am surprised at how balanced the Big Sky is this year - no game is a gimme for anyone other than Idaho State. UND has a chance to finish a very respectable no. 5 in the conference if they win against UNC, and we KNOW the D can play much better than they have shown for much of this year. I think there is a pretty big upside to UND football right now.

I would think we would benefit from the rest/week off more than we would benefit from a 12th game. When our depth improves, 12 games may be reasonable, but at this point, we aren't there yet.

I expect the same result we had in 3of the 4 games we played against ranked or fbs teams. We have a chance to win this one late in the game. This time hopefully it's our turn!

Awesome game. The D finally rose to the occasion today and played well toward the end of the game, or so it seemed from what I heard on the radio. I have to wonder why we don't throw over the middle more; seems like that has been Hanson's forte in every game he has played, and with receivers we have and the run game we don't have, why not do something to force the linebackers in the middle to think pass first?

Agree completely. as an example, look at Thornton at NDSU. A great talent but will never see the field as A QB due to the depth and talent they have at this position. If I were a high school defensive standout, I would love the opportunity that UND would give me.

Last season's success was against a much softer schedule. Do you think we would have beat Sac State, Portland State, or been able to play with SDSU last year?

Terrible call on 3rd and 1. Could be said that that call more than anything else cost us the game.
