  1. I think he was referring to successful QB's
  2. Nothing against this kid, but I do not see him playing at this level. 5'9 185lb RB's are a dime a dozen and in his highlight video, he did nothing to separate himself. Making those runs against CC opponents is very different than doing against D-1 level opponents.
  3. Personally, I am not a fan of running QB's, I would rather have a accurate passer that can get the ball into his playmakers hands, manage the game and stay healthy. Running QB's are at a much greater risk of injury and easier to defend if they aren't able to be effective throwing the ball. 6'2, 190lbs is kind of small for a college QB when he is trying to see receivers through 6'5 linemen.
  4. In today's world, a coach and his staff have a limited amount of time to prove that they can get the job done and at least be competitive. Sadly, Muss and his staff have not reached that point and have failed at even showing progress. I will agree that they have been successful in bringing in some talent, but not nearly enough to turn the program into a contender. It has become obvious to everyone that follows the program that something needs to change and in this case, it is the leadership. We don't need a big name, we need a coach and staff that understand how to recruit locally and regionally. We need a staff that is driven to put the best product on the field and inspire players to believe they can achieve the ultimate team goal. Most of all, you need a staff that connects with the players on a level that they truly become a men both on and off the field. Mediocrity can not be accepted any longer, if we want to be a respected and desired by future student/athletes. Sorry for the rant!
  5. He may have been offered as a QB, but I don't believe that is where he would end up playing if he verbals.
  6. Agreed. I don't think he is being offered as a QB, probably as a athlete.
  7. Completely agree!
  8. Along with Wilkie, Maynard and Gordon, I would also like to add Trabing, Herbes and Greely.
  9. You are right, we are not required to offer him or anyone because their father played here, but you would probably get a player that is more enthusiastic and has more passion for UND football. I just think that we would have the inside track to get him since his father played here. Maybe you are right that he isn't worthy of a FCS offer, but I am hoping that you are wrong and he will find his way to Grand Forks next fall.
  10. I don't know his medical history, but according to the statistics on the startribune website, he didn't miss a game in either his Jr. or Sr. year.
  11. Which regional FCS schools have a QB verbal at this point? I did see that NDSU got the QB they were after, but haven't followed the other schools commits. I too live in the metro and have seen him play twice. You can say what you want about him, but I would certainly be willing to take a chance on a 6'5 210lb QB that has thrown for the kind of numbers he has as a Jr. and Sr. I would also agree that it would be a backhanded compliment if we offered after others, especially when his father is a alum.
  12. In my opinion, I would like them to let Muss go now so that a replacement can be hired and we don't lose out on a entire recruiting class.
  13. You don't think we should offer him? Go look him up on hudl if you haven't seen him play.
  14. I have to agree with you on this one. Besides bringing in some OL/DL hogs, these 3 would definitely be great additions. If we haven't offered Wilkie, our coaching staff is far dumber than I thought.
  15. According to that link we don't have 1 commit?
  16. Do we have anyone committed? If so, please post the list........thanks!
  17. Putting your redshirts in the stands vs addressing the situation is bizarre. Everyone wants their entire team to be a team and learn how to handle yourself in all situations. If you have kids messing around, reprimand them, run them until they puke or jerk their scholarship. If you don't understand how to take control of a team, you shouldn't be coaching at any level.
  18. Does anyone know if any new offers or possible commits coming soon?
  19. Ok, you got me there, I don't know. Maybe I am the crazy one, but when I watched him play last year, it was impressive and from what I can tell he has gotten even better.
  20. I have been saying this since last year when he led the state of MN in passing as a Jr, but of course our genius coaching staff hasn't offered and someone else will probably steal him. Worst of all, he will probably end up playing against us and setting some kind of NCAA record for passing yards. I watched him play in person last year against Edina and watched video from this year and I honestly do not understand why we haven't pursued this kid. Do we really have a chance of getting someone better?
  21. He is one of many Minnesota, North/South Dakota kids we should get from the 2014 class.
  22. Leach would be a great get, even for a partial.
  23. Wrong, they are kids. Many of these athletes are 18-20, but Muss is a adult and should act accordingly.
  24. A coach that would go to the media to call players out would not only make himself look like a idiot, but would lose credibility with everyone. Not a good idea!
  25. Pulling a scholarship is a slippery slop for any college. Once a school is know to pull scholarships, that reputation will spread quickly and be used against them by other schools. Rolling the dice could cost you multiple kids in the future.
