  1. I can't imagine that his motion is too terrible if he passed for 400 yards in 1 game. I also saw in the star tribune that he was voted to the Minnesota High School Football preseason "Dream Team", so he must have something good going for him.
  2. Maybe this kid is the answer, since Easton Stick has narrowed his choices? http://www.mnfootballhub.com/news_article/show/280704?referrer_id=484170
  3. I was just asking a question, didn't mean to start a fight........ sorry!
  4. I agree with the "swing for the fences" mentality. Do you think it is possible that we miss out on kids because of offers or attention to kids that won't end up coming to UND?
  5. Is there a reason that we are offering kids from Florida and Arizona that we have no chance of getting? I understand that they want to get the best athletes that they can, but why waste time on kids that have bigger offers close to home or may leave after spending the month of January in Grand Forks.
  6. Besides calling me stupid, you missed the point completely. I wasn't talking about 1 person, I was talking about nearly every post I have read from you. Don't get me wrong, you make some valid points, but it would be nice to see someone say something positive about about a recruit/transfer rather than pointing out fault. You don't have to worry about responding to me, I won't be responding or posting on this site going forward. Thanks for the debate!
  7. I am not talking about anyone in particular, although I did go back and look at your comments and the word "awful" was used. I just find it amazing that you have very little positive on any recruit or transfer. Most fans of a DI-AA school would be excited at the possibility of a Big 12 QB coming to play, but it seems that many on this board want to find fault or criticize some aspect of him. This isn't just about him, this is my rant against negativity. My point is that it gets old reading posts from wanna be analysts that shred kids in a attempt to make themselves look smart. I understand that you may not think a certain player is a good fit, good person or even a good player, but please remember that these are just kids trying to get a education.
  8. I will agree with you that they may not make a decision, but I do know for a fact that kids look at these message boards and if he feels as though he isn't going to be as excepted or the fans are excited about him going there, he may lean towards a different school.
  9. There are plenty of examples of poor mechanics or arm strength, but you have to look at what type of offense they were recruited for. Martinez was not brought into a pass happy offense, they run spread, speed option and utilize their running attack to open up play action. They are not a team that is typically going to throw for 300 yards a game, but more interested in forcing opponents to roll up a safety and get man coverage. UND needs a QB that has solid arm strength and accuracy and smart enough to run the offense, make the right reads, while managing the game. In my opinion, a good QB makes average WR's look great, so with the talent we have at receiver, bringing in a solid, smart, pro-style QB, regardless of mechanics is much more important than what his perceived throwing motion looks like to the average fan. Unless you are or have been a college/professional QB coach, you probably don't have enough knowledge to be breaking down the mechanics of anyone, so please leave that to the ones who are paid to do so and quit shredding potential players that may decide not to come to UND, because of the negativity and will go somewhere they are appreciated.
  10. So far on here I have seen you rip a highly recruited QB out of Minnesota and a Big 12 QB for mechanics. Apparently college coaches see things that you don't. If you would like to pick a video to break down mechanics, I would love to do that with you.
  11. I am starting to think that geaux_sioux thinks he knows what he is talking about, but actually has no clue. It seems every QB mentioned he has a problem with mechanics in some way shape or form. Not that any coach reads this forum, but with the little knowledge he does spew, people actually believe some of it. The football program would love to have a kid transfer in from a top BCS school (no chance it will happen) and for anyone on this site that actually does know what real mechanics look like for a QB, he provides a chuckle.
  12. Ok, thanks for clearing that up! Now on to the other positions
  13. You have me confused geaux_sioux. I thought you didn't think he was good enough to play for us because of his mechanics?
  14. Now I have tons of players to research! Thanks for the info.
  15. I guess after researching him further, I am more impressed with him. His mechanics don't bother me after seeing how well he performed as a junior and taking into account his physical attributes. Does anyone know if he is being recruited or which others QB's we are looing at.
  16. I don't really see much of a mechanics issue or ar least anything major. Although, you might have more experience teaching QB's.
  17. I just went back and watched that video again. Considering his size, arm strength and that he is a junior, he definitely has some up side. You are probably right that things will depend on his senior year, but if he continues to improve there will probably be many schools interested in him.
  18. Does anyone know if we are recruiting him?
  19. Although I believe that this kid is a solid high school QB, not sure he has the talent to play at the D-I level or even D-II. He is probably more of a lower level D-II or III QB.
  20. I am assuming that you know him if you know his injury history. What type of injuries and how many concussions has he had?
