You make a good point although Bem does play us tough those son of a guns. But yes, would love to see non-conf action each season vs Minn State. -

Wow, 4 week stretch late Oct to mid Nov a tough run with 6 of 8 on the road at Duluth, Min and St Cloud and 2 at home at home vs Den. -
I don't know, this is getting Les Steckel season-like...disaster.

I luv that video!

Thx, I feel better now. Yesterday our 18 year old daughter who just got home from completing her 1st year at MN St - Mankato was reading the Schlossman article (I got her an extra copy of the GF Herald Supplement) and she even shed had a few tears (surprised me). For once my wife could not understand why she shed a tear over the article but as old pops I could completely relate (huge Sioux hockey fan since late 70s) with our great teams but near misses for the past 16 hears. Daughter is a Mavs purple cow fan now (in the pep band there) bless her, but at heart having grown up in EGF with pops a UND alumnus and huge Sioux hockey fan and having taken her to many a game at the Ralph deep down her heart still bleeds green. Other daughter is at U-Wis and she sits in the Badger student section end to cheer them sure (she picked a rotten 2 -3 years to attend there being she's a hockey fan!) on but same situation, deep down she still bleeds green. And for that, I'm glad.

Damn, so I'm not the only middle aged guy whose eyes welled up a bit while reading it (not that I would tell anyone). I guess 16 years of mostly all real good seasons but waiting (and I'm not by any means a Haks basher) does that to one.
-
I assume you're talking Milwaukee. No clue, they likely do in numbers, but I just don't know how many make the trek. I'm guessing Chicago metro also has a fair number of Badger alums attending ftbl games too. I think Madison is a larger version of Sioux hockey attendance, rabid fan base with very successful ftbl teams these past 20 - 25 years and they fill plenty of seats.
-
Don't know much about her. Is that breaking new ground being a female commish of a D1 conf or old hat? I've got no clue.
-
I'm thinking the Sioux hockey team plays like 18-20 home games a season.
-
Hey, I'm no Bison fan but Madison has maybe 350,000 folks or so (maybe another 100K in MSA?) and they pack 85,000 just about every home game in Camp Randall. Albeit, home attendance ain't the only thing that dictates/stamps FBS level football though.

Spot on, ditto!

Well, he was, but he got fired there too! -
Point on. Like Wentz (size not an issue there), had some big-time FBS/P5 schools recruited him I'm sure he would of gone elsewhere besides NDSU or C Mich (?) I gotta think.

Seriously, I'm not being glib but Miami of OH has "History of Success" as regards hockey?. Define "History" (length of time) and trophies? To me it seems like they've had several seasons nice run but even that's got some splatters (e.g. this season). Maybe being a Sioux hockey fan we're spoiled/higher standards maybe.
-
You do make a valid point, I'm guilty too. I guess it's akin to stopping in the middle of the road (aisle) versus taking it to the shoulder (sides of aisle).
-
with all the money the Ralph makes on beer and hockey tickets they need to update/make bigger the scoreboard (first thing first though, add a video board to the Betty).
-
Expanded? So they can accommodate even more Fighting Sioux fans?
-
I'm melting! Daughter always jokes she's been at Wis nearly 3 years now and she's just happened to be there when for 2 years they've been "historically bad" (men's hockey). Poor timing! Her heart, deep down, is still with UND hockey though.
-
Agree. I'm a UND alumni but I have a daughter who is attending Wis and I never realized until I was researching universities with her how well Wis and eve Minn too are ranked academically, along of course with Mich and N'Western as well. They are very reputable schools nationally and world-wide even. And that's by no means a knock on UND and other like schools. In fact, I still think while a reputable school listed on the old resume sure helps get a foot in the door that in the end great employees/workers/managers/you name it come from ALL schools (including UND, Denver, ...) and the individual matters the most ultimately.
-
That's what it looks like. Those unis are hideous.
-
Man, Cags gets it and he and his family too truly appreciates his time and the hockey family and traditions here at UND/GF. I tip my cap to him. I've got a feeling we'll be seeing him around here over the years from time to time, I'm guessing he won't be a stranger.
-
And Wis lately.
-
I don't care about the injuries, they gotta blow this team up. Offensive top end goal scoring skill is lackluster.
-
Wow, well said/captured--was there and that's me.
